Our facility is ran by a couple of Fun-Gi’s- We produce mushrooms of all types. We provide product to locals, stores, restaurants, and even wholesale grocery outlets!

Morel season is beginning, and a few small habits can make a big difference for future harvests.

When you’re out hunting, skip the plastic bags and use a mesh onion bag instead. As morels mature, their spores become light enough to drift off with the slightest movement. A breathable bag lets those spores fall back into the woods as you walk, helping keep your favorite patches healthy.

Another helpful step: give your morels a quick rinse in clean water (no salt), then toss that water outside. The best places are in moist, shady spots around trees. This simple practice spreads spores in places where they’re most likely to take hold. This can even be in your own yard!

And patience is part of the magic. Morel spores generally take two to five years to establish a mature underground mycelium network capable of producing mushrooms. Every spore you help return to the habitat is an investment in future seasons.

A mesh bag, a little rinse water, and some respect for the forest go a long way toward keeping Ohio’s morel patches thriving.
