Sunday 08/30/26 Decided on a whim to have a soft opening of my farm stand today! I don’t have a ton currently, but I’m excited to see what happens! I have flower bouquets, eggs, and Charlottes handmade potholders! I am accepting cash and Venmo. Margaret Dr, Broad Brook.

🍉🌱 WE GREW WATERMELONS… kind of. 😂

Today was harvest day for our very first two Sugar Baby watermelons! 🎉🍉

And then we cut them open…

One was PERFECT. 🍉😍
The other one? Let’s just say… she had other plans. 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

But honestly, I’ll take a 50% success rate for our first attempt! One sweet, juicy, homegrown watermelon is still a win in my book. 🥹💚

Gardening really keeps you humble. One minute you’re celebrating your harvest and the next you’re standing over a questionable watermelon wondering where you went wrong.

We introduced our three newest chicks to the OG girls yesterday! 🐥💕 Meet Sweetie (the black-and-white speckled one), Rosie (our sweet girl with the crooked leg 🙃), and Midnight (all black and absolutely adorable!).

For the next week or so, they’ll be hanging out in this cage while everyone gets acquainted and they slowly adjust to each other. Fingers crossed for a smooth introduction! 🐔💗

Today’s garden harvest got turned into the easiest homemade pickles! From fresh cucumbers straight from the garden to a jar of garlicky, crunchy, tangy goodness. 😍

No canning, no fancy equipment — just slice, mix, pour, and pop them in the fridge! 🥒✨

🐛 A little bit of garden magic! 🧡

One of the many monarch caterpillars enjoying the milkweed here. Milkweed is the only plant monarch caterpillars can eat, making it essential for their survival. Over the next couple of weeks, this tiny striped caterpillar will grow, form a chrysalis, and emerge as one of North America’s most beautiful butterflies.

Every caterpillar we find is a reminder that even a small garden can make a big difference for wildlife. We’re so excited to watch this incredible transformation unfold and share the journey with you! 🦋
