Syme Family Farm We are a family farm and growers of amazing Cut Flowers, Christmas Trees, Greenhouse crops, Mums, Pumpkins, Melons and much more!

Syme Family Farm are growers of spring/summer/fall flowering plants, amazing specialty cut flowers and Christmas Trees. Farm fresh eggs are available year round from our large and diverse flock of very spoiled chickens. During our cut flower season our farm stand is open 6 days/week. We also offer our CSA Cut Flower Club on two pickup days with 4 and 8 week flower subscriptions available. Watermelons and Pumpkins are also grown and sold.

Open daily, self-serve, prices have been reduced. Still good quality because we cover them during frosts/freezes.

We opened up the 130.5 lb and 103 lb watermelons to harvest the seeds for the future. Surprisingly they had decent flavor for their size and the beef cows really enjoyed them!

As we wrap up our 21st season as specialty cut flower growers we want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU!

🌼Thank you for continuously and enthusiastically supporting our locally grown blooms from March-October.
🌸Thank you for valuing the freshness, quality and uniqueness of our farm flowers.
🌼Thank you for valuing our decades of experience, our knowledge of growing and the investment to our farming infrastructure.
🌸Thank you for including our blooms in your special occasions and also for life’s everyday moments or just because.
🌼Thank you to our amazing staff who are involved in every aspect of our quality blooms!

But mostly THANK YOU for your friendship! We adore our customers and our community. We love seeing the new grandbaby pics, the vacation pics and sharing watermelon recipes! We enjoy sharing our farm and crops with you all!

We still have plenty of field work left to do; Tulip planting, Dahlia digging/dividing and of course Christmas Tree/Christmas Barn preparation.

2027 is already being planned and the Cut Flower Club registration will be launched soon!

Tuesday morning Farm Update and Photo Dump:

🎃🌼Pumpkins and the remaining Mums are available daily, self-serve.
We will be CLOSED on Saturday to host a family event.

🍁The Christmas Tree hill foliage is really putting on a show, gorgeous!

🌷The first 21 boxes of our 2027 Tulip Bulbs are arriving with many more on their way! We will be planting thousands of them soon!

🌸The Dahlia Field has been labeled, cut back, and the two layers of netting removed. They will sit and cure for a few weeks before the Big Dig and Divide.

☔️We received 2.3” of rain on Sunday. The Christmas Tree crop has been receiving rain regularly and will be adequately hydrated heading into the Christmas season!

Happy National Farmers Day and hats off to our American Farmers!
It’s not an easy job, but always very rewarding.
Our food crops nourish the body and our flower crops nourish the soul.
The term Farmer doesn’t even begin to describe the many hats that are worn; it requires the skills of an agronomist, nutritionist, plant pathologist, veterinarian, weatherman, handyman as well as organizational and management skills all while being stewards of the land.
You can have the best plan in place and Mother Nature will prove that she is always your boss.
Today, Celebrate Agriculture, Celebrate Locally Grown and Celebrate Farmers with every bite that you eat!

The Luffa’s were harvested last week ahead of the frost and we have a bumper crop this year!
If we had $1 for every time someone asked us “why are you letting your zucchini/cucumbers grow so big?”, we’d be rich 😂

We have already started processing them and it is quite a production but the end result is a locally grown sponge that can be used in the bath & shower for exfoliating.

🌲We will pair them with a locally made goats milk soap to create an adorable Connecticut Grown gift set that will be available in our Christmas Barn! They were wildly popular last year and they sold out quickly!

What started back in May with over 30 different seed varieties has grown into a bumper crop of Specialty Pumpkins, Carving Pumpkins and Gourds.

This is our final Big Hurrah fall weekend with all the farm goodies!

🎃PUMPKINS! And not just boring pumpkins, we grew the white ones, the green ones, the primitive terra cotta ones, the flat ones, the bumpy ones and more!

🌼MUMS, huge, beautiful mums for your front step. Not many left!

🌿EUCALYPTUS, this is your final chance to grab our field-grown Euc! Fragrant and tall!

🌼The remaining Mums are on the stand. They are huge and gorgeous but there are less than 200 left so grab some while they are still available!
