Unicorn Poop Farms

Unicorn Poop Farms Small family farm. Welcome to our farm! We are a small family-run operation dedicated to providing you with fresh, healthy chicken, eggs, and produce.

Our journey began when one of us was diagnosed with Alpha-gal Syndrome, a condition that made it impossible to consume conventional meats due to a reaction to mammalian products. Seeking a healthier, allergen-free lifestyle, we started raising our own chickens, free from soy, corn, and other common allergens that could cause problems. We realized there was a need for cleaner, more sustainable food

options that could cater to specific dietary restrictions, so we expanded our farm to include a variety of produce. Everything we grow is cultivated with care, using toxin-free methods to ensure the health of both our crops and our customers. We pride ourselves on the quality of our products, raising our animals and plants in a way that promotes overall well-being. Our goal is simple: to provide wholesome, nutritious food that you can trust. We understand the importance of knowing where your food comes from and are committed to supporting your health journey by offering products that are free of harmful additives and allergens. Join us on this path to better health, one meal at a time.

On this mornings The Morning Dirt we're all a buzz🐝. You guessed it we're talking about our Bees! I don't know if you know this but Bees make Honey 🍯😉. So all of that delicious Honey we bring to the market starts here, in our hives. Fun fact about Bees: Honey bees communicate food locations by performing the famous “waggle dance,” which gives other bees information about both direction and distance.

On this mornings The Morning Dirt- Fun Fact Friday

Fun Fact- Unicorns are the national animal of Scotland and have been for hundreds of years. Unicorns represent strength, purity, independence, and an animal so powerful it couldn't easily be captured. Even Scotland knew Unicorns🦄 were serious business. We just added the poop💩.

Come see us at the Greene Farmers market tomorrow from 8-12pm and see what magic we have at the booth!

Funny how one conversation can completely change the direction of a farm.

Our journey into raising pastured chicken really started with Joaquin.

He had already been talking about wanting to raise our own meat birds when he ran into one of his old high school marching band buddies, Jack Dixon of Riverbank Farms, at Elkton Days. Jack was there selling chicken from one of their first batches and talking about this new venture they had jumped into.

And if you’ve ever talked to Jack about chicken, you know his enthusiasm is contagious. 😂

He wasn’t just excited about raising birds. He was passionate about making better chicken available to everyday families at a price they could actually afford.

Not long after that, Joaquin went out to help Riverbank Farms process their first big batch of around 200 chickens.

Two hundred birds later… he was hooked. 😂

Since then, Joaquin has continued learning from Jack — everything from raising healthy birds and managing them on pasture to understanding how much every little decision matters from the day a chick arrives until that chicken reaches someone’s dinner table.

Watching Jack grow Riverbank Farms has been inspiring for us. His passion for pastured poultry, his willingness to teach, and his belief that good food should still be accessible to regular families have helped shape the way we think about raising chicken here at Unicorn P**p Farms.

One of the biggest lessons we’ve taken from him is simple:

Raise food you would be proud to put on your own family’s table.

That philosophy influences every decision we make.

It’s why our birds are raised on pasture.

It’s why we pay attention to how they’re handled and cared for.

It’s why we feed Sunrise Farms non-GMO feed — another business we’re proud to support because the quality of the bird starts long before processing day. What goes into our chickens matters just as much to us as how they are raised.

We care about the feed.
We care about the pasture.
We care about fresh air, sunshine, grass and bugs.
We care about how the birds are handled from the moment they arrive as tiny chicks until the day they are processed.

Because at the end of the day, we aren’t just growing “a product.”

We’re growing someone’s dinner.

Your Sunday roast.

Your kids’ chicken tenders.

The soup you make when somebody in your family is sick.

The meal you put in front of the people you love.

And if we wouldn’t proudly serve it to our own family, we don’t want to sell it to yours.

So when you see Joaquin out moving chicken tractors, filling feeders, checking birds, hauling feed, or spending an entire processing day covered in feathers… 😂 there’s a pretty cool story behind how he got there.

We’re incredibly grateful to Jack and Riverbanks Farms for sharing their knowledge, encouraging another small farm, and showing us what it looks like when farmers help farmers grow.

And we’re grateful for businesses like Sunrise Farms that give small producers like us access to the quality feed we want for our animals.

Because better local food doesn’t happen because of one farm.

It happens when farmers, feed producers, customers, families, and communities all choose to support one another.

And this little chicken adventure of ours?

It started with two old marching band buddies talking about chickens at Elkton Days. 🐔❤️
