Shotgunn Rider made her show debut count, marking a 220 with Ryan Rapp to win the West Texas Futurity 3-Year-Old Open Finals and $25,000 on Aug. 10 in Amarillo — topping the first go with a 221 along the way.

Owned by Carpenter Farms and Solo Select, the Dual Rey filly is out of That Catomine, an NCHA Open Super Stakes and NCHA Open Derby finalist whose offspring have earned more than $1.1 million. Her full sibling Duramax Dually has earned over $572,000 and entered the NCHA Horse Hall of Fame in 2022.

Tyson Benson trained Shotgunn Rider as a 2-year-old before Ryan Rapp took over and showed her to the West Texas title.

By all accounts, she is just getting started.
