We’ve been enjoying organic cantaloupe from Young Earth Farm. Emma went fancy and balled her melon and put a little lime juice on it, which she says puts it over the top! Thanks, Shirley!

I just picked up some more bagels from Mermaid Kitchen Madison. Last week this is what I did with mine:
Toasted plain sourdough bagel
Light Laughing Cow cheese (white cheddar)
Our red cabbage microgreens
Our Red Orach microgreens

So yummy, nutritious and filling!

Farmers Market meal!

Marie Far Breton Bakery gave us a loaf of her braided bread. I’m not sure what it’s called - but it was screaming “French toast” to me. Dipped in eggs from Maple Bee Acres LLC and drizzled with maple syrup from Maple Bee Acres LLC. So yummy!!

We left Market early today because of heavy rain accompanied by lightning and wind. A couple vendors lost their canopies. The storm drain couldn’t keep up- I stood in water that went halfway to my knee when I opened the side door of the van to load up. 😳

If we had known it would calm down after that, we might’ve stayed. But also, if we hadn’t been packing up and had our tent lowered when the wind kicked up, we might have lost our canopy. Weather is unpredictable, and losing a canopy sucks up any sales made for the day, so I guess leaving was the right choice.

Thankful we didn’t lose anything and we had a safe drive home. 🙌🏼

I’m glad Emma grabbed a quick video so you can see the large pool of water swirling in front of our canopy.

I got a message today from Marie Far Breton Bakery that their savory crepes made the #1 spot in the Capitol Times - and they used our white cherry tomatoes!

Way to go Marie! I told you your stuff is delicious - looks like I’m not the only one that thinks so. 😉

I shared recently about a bakery using our garlic scapes.

Well, that’s not the only baker using our produce.

Marie at Far Breton Bakery has been using our pea shoots for her delicious mini quiches! The pea shoots add a little sweetness and take the quiche to the next level. Pea is the summer special flavor for her mini quiches. 🥰

We are honored that she chose to use our product and love what she’s done with them! Next time you’re at her shop or at one of the farmers markets she’s at, get one and see how yummy they are!

WE WILL NOT BE AT MARKET TOMORROW.

Due to the planned protest tomorrow and the shortened market hours, we have decided not to vend at the Capitol Square tomorrow.

Due to our unplanned absence on the Square, we will have a lot of extra product at Northside Market on Sunday (as well as a large reduction in this week’s income). We would greatly appreciate your coming to the Sunday market, which is currently set to operate as usual.

We feel honored to have our garlic scapes used in biscuits. I can see why he sells out of these. YUM!!! They were a perfect complement to our salads tonight.

Taco wrap for lunch:
Low-carb tortilla with refried beans; added our lettuce mix, cabbage micros, cherry tomatoes (the plants have started producing!!), topped with salsa from Hickory Hill Farm, and some homemade yogurt. Yum!

We should be able to bring cherry tomatoes to all the markets soon! Lettuce and microgreens are already at each of our markets. :)
