We wanted to help out another farm by helping their kids with a project for school. They wanted to see how long it would take for livestock to eat a watermelon. We decided to try with the chickens and goats. We started the chickens at 4:15pm and they finished up at 7:08pm. We have 12 chickens. And we started the goats at 4:19pm and they finished at 4:55pm. We have 13 goats and a guardian pup that also wanted to partake in eating the watermelon.

When you have goats you should expect the unexpected. All. The. Time! We have been noticing the barns doors slightly open in the mornings. We were thinking that the goats were laying down and opening them a little. Well apparently, Miss Oreo (the culprit) didnā€™t want the barn door to be closed. She pushed this very heavy barn door all the way off the hinge tonight and we caught it on camera. šŸ™„šŸ™„ So we thought we would share. šŸ¤£

We are in a winter wonderland here! The goats are nestled in the barn with Nicholas the pup close by and the chickens are hunkering down in the coop/run. The geese decided to come out and walk around for a bit. Arenā€™t they so pretty in the snow?!? We may have some surprises from the geese pretty soon šŸ«£šŸ„°ā¤ļø Enjoy the beautiful snow day and be safe out there!
