We will have barnyard mix chicks available in about two weeks. I currently have 40 eggs incubating. Chicks will be straight run $5 per chick. Dads are Easter Eggers. Moms inclide black copper maran, Easter Eggers, olive Egger, barred rock, and sapphire gems. By fall we will have breeding pens started for bantam cochins (bbs and frizzles), Blue/Black Splash Amauracanas, and Rhode Island Reds. Black Copper Marans will be arriving later in the year.

We will also have barnyard mix hatching eggs $15 per dozen! Hens are barred rock, black copper maran, welsummer, Easter Eggers and sapphire gems, we have two Easter egger roosters and two bantam cochins (but they will be separated hopefully next week if you want to wait to not have bantam crossing possibilities)

Good morning! I wanted to post a quick update and a few notes.

First and foremost I want to thank everyone who loves our eggs. Your purchases help keep all our feathered kids fed and happy!

Currently our prices are roughly $1 cheaper than publix. Our hens free range all day on grass, seeds and bugs. They get fresh water daily, layer crumbles with a high protein count and added probiotics and herbs, plus a 4 grain scratch grain mix. They also get any scraps we can manage including meats, fish, eggs and veggies.

That being said, at $4 a dozen yes we are keeping fed but I cannot feasibly deliver to every buyer at home. I'd love to, but it is fiscally impossible and devours my time. All egg purchases can either be picked up from our house or from the following meeting points and times:
Monday mornings, Jonesville Tractor Supply times may vary so please text/pm so we can confirm.
Wednesday mornings in Haile Plantation Village Center 8:30-9 AM, please confirm via text/pm ahead of time.
Thursday mornings 10:40-10:50 Cheveron at the corner of Archer rd. And Parker rd.

We are in Bronson, so traveling across county or into Gainesville all the time just doesn't work out. We work and I homeschool. We love making sure you guys have fresh eggs and hope that these locations and times work. Please let me know if I can help in any way!

We have 5 dozen eggs available! Pickup or I will be in SW Gainesville and Jonesville tomorrow!

We are getting hurricane prepped here on the farm. We stocked up on feed and have been clearing the yard. The birds will have plenty of shelter. The cows have ways to get out of the rain but will stay free roam. My horses live at my grandmother's and they will be free roaming as well. This is actually safer for livestock because it allows them to seek shelter based on their natural instincts without being stressed by being enclosed or risking barns falling on them. The cows are tagged so if a fence went down we would find them fairly easily and we will probably mark the horses for identification. Right now we are in a direct line of the storm. Wish us luck!

Our first two cows have made it home! We have invested in three head this year so far. The bald face is a brangus steer I hand picked from my farrier's herd when he was a baby. He will be raised and butchered for meat for us. The brown lady is Sable and she is a Brangus/Charolais heifer we will use for breeding. We have a second steer still to come and eventually may invest in another heifer.

This is a learning experience for everyone on the farm. They are curious and quirky and fun! Jody loves watching them. I'm working on taming them. Wyatt mostly likes playing in their water trough lol! But he is learning about their habits, feed and care. He calls the bald face Duke (but I named him Chuck Roast). He understands Duke/Chuck will be used for meat later (though he has asked if we can just get another for meat lol). This is a great part of farm education for him.
