Pheasant Hollow Farm MI

Pheasant Hollow Farm MI Pheasant Hollow Farm is a 90 acre farm being managed for both sustainable agriculture and wildlife habitat.

Our 90 acre farmstead was established in 1999 after an exhaustive search for a combination of tillable and wooded acreage as well as natural water sources. Well, it wasn’t exactly established, we still needed to build a house, barn and all the other life sustaining things. Originally, the deal between my wife and I was if it was inside the fence around the house , she takes care of it, outside of

the fence, I take care of it and she could decide where the fence would be. Well, as it turned out, she expanded and we now have # # lavender beds growing and # # # garlic fields outside the fence. Part of our property is in CRP (Conservation Reserve Program), as part of that program we have planted NWSG (native warm season grasses) and over 6000 trees and bushes. Our plantings continue yearly with native bushes and trees. We have also planted a small apple orchard (15) and 10 hybrid chestnuts. Yes, I know they aren’t native, but if we can get chestnuts to grow in Michigan again, I think it’s worth the non-native influence.
