Our pretty girl Ira is growing up! ❤️🐎

Ira (Caracaro × Pachira, by Malibu Moon) is really starting to come into her own, and we’re loving how she’s developing!

With those long legs, beautiful bay coat, and plenty of presence, she’s becoming quite the eye-catcher in the pasture. She’s got a lovely frame to grow into, and we’re excited to see how she continues to fill out and mature.

Ira is the first foal out of our maiden mare Pachira, and we couldn’t be happier with what she’s given us. It’s always exciting to see what a mare produces for the first time, and Ira has certainly given us plenty to look forward to!

Someone is growing up handsome! 🐎❤️

Bearclaw (Leinster × Is The Way, by Kantharos) is really starting to come into his own, and we couldn’t be happier with how he’s developing!

He’s filling out beautifully, with a strong, athletic build, a lovely shoulder, and plenty of leg underneath him. We’re especially excited to watch how he continues to mature over the coming months.

His mama, Izzy, has given us a c**t we’re incredibly proud of, and it’s been so rewarding watching him grow from that little red newborn into the handsome young horse standing in our pasture today.

We might be a little biased, but we think he’s turning out pretty darn nice! ❤️

With Bruiser off to his new connections, our focus turns to the next generation of youngsters here at Grand Hammock Ranch, and the wonderful mares who make it all possible. ❤️

Pictured is Envy, our 2026 filly by Doppelgänger, out of Birdtastic (Birdstone). She’s the younger sister to Bruiser (Roadster), and we couldn’t be happier with how she’s coming along!

Birdie has given us two beautiful foals, each with their own personality and qualities that make us excited for their futures. Watching Bruiser grow from a newborn foal into the yearling we proudly sent through the sales ring has made us appreciate Birdie that much more. Now, watching Envy grow and develop, we’re reminded all over again of just how much these mares give us.

It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of new foals, pedigrees, stallion selections, and sales, but none of it would be possible without the mares behind them. They’re the foundation of everything we hope to accomplish with our breeding program, and we take so much pride in the girls we have.

We’re incredibly thankful for Birdie and all of our broodmares. They give us so much to look forward to, and we can’t wait to see what the next few years bring. 🐎❤️

Bittersweet goodbyes and exciting new beginnings. ❤️🐎

Today, our sweet boy “Meep Meep” (Bruiser) officially sold at the OBS October Yearling Sale! He is the first thoroughbred foaled at Grand Hammock Ranch, and he will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Our handsome grey c**t by Roadster, out of Birdtastic (Birdstone), was purchased by Saffie Joesph Jr., and we couldn’t be more excited to see what the future holds for him!

Even better, he’ll be joined by his stablemate from Hickstead farm, their Charlatan × Honey Trap (Medaglia d’Oro) yearling! It’s nice knowing he’ll have a familiar face alongside him as they begin this next chapter.

Selling a horse you’ve watched grow up is always bittersweet. We’ve loved this c**t from the very beginning, and while we’re so proud to see him take this next step, saying goodbye certainly wasn’t easy.

Before he stepped into the sales ring, we made sure to give him one last good luck hug. And when it came time to say goodbye, he leaned right in and hugged us back. 🥹❤️ It’s a moment we’ll hold onto for a long time.

A very special thank you to Richard Kent at Kaizen Sales for helping us every step of the way. From preparing us and Meep Meep for the sale to helping him find such a wonderful new home, we couldn’t be more grateful for the time, care, and effort put into our boy. It means the world to know he’s heading off to such an exciting opportunity, and we’re so thankful to everyone who helped make it happen! ❤️

A huge congratulations to Saffie Joseph Jr. and all of Meep Meep’s new connections! We wish both c**ts nothing but success, and you can bet we’ll be cheering them on every step of the way.

Go forth and do great things, sweet boy. You’ve got a whole farm full of people rooting for you. ❤️

Thank You for a Great 2026 Breeding Season!

As we begin preparing for the 2027 breeding season, our annual Stallion Show and the year ahead, we’re reminded that none of what we do would be possible without the breeders, owners and horsemen who support Pleasant Acres Stallions.
