You might be wondering "Where have you guys been trucking lately?" Cue Johnny Cash: "I've been everywhere man"! 2026 is already half over, & we've been plenty busy these past several months (hence the lack of posts ๐Ÿ˜ฌ).
Since the first of the year, some interesting new commodities have seen the inside of our trailer, namely sorghum, dried egg, magnesium oxide (a cattle feed additive), & potato flour pellets. Our travels have taken us from southeast South Dakota to the very northern strip of Vermont & most everywhere in between.
Getting all these feed ingredients to their destination is hard work, but there are plenty of perks to the job as well; discovering fun new places - Marker 126 travel stop in Duncombe, IA or Grandpa's Cheesebarn in Ashland, OH ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป - is one of those perks.
Summer will be gone before you know it, then we'll dive into seed corn season. Who knows where the road will take us next!

And just like that, another year draws to a close. The past 12 months have been a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but there's no mistaking how richly we've been blessed. 2025 began with Big Chuck pulling our belt trailer; most weeks saw us hauling livestock feed to Virginia & stone or cottonseed back up north. In March we added a large capacity hopper trailer to the operation to help diversify our hauling capabilities.

As many of you know, our semi suffered a catastrophic breakdown the first week of June, leaving us stranded nearly 600 miles from home. It was an ordeal involving 2 separate tows, 2 different repair shops, a hotel stay, a cab ride, a rental car, countless phone calls/texts, & LOTS of prayer. God be thanked, we came through it unscathed & now have one heck of a story to add to the books. After that, it was time to find our new ride & get back on the road. Wyatt now pulls the hopper trailer, & we can often be found running through Illinois, Tennessee, Missouri, & northeastern Arkansas with various feed ingredients.

As for the farm, we were blessed with a beautiful & bountiful wheat crop this summer. There's nothing quite like the sight of a summer sunset & the sound of wind whispering through those amber waves of grain. Spring will likely see us planting soybeans on those same acres; you'll have to check back in May or so to see if that's the case.

The critters are all well: a few veteran barn cats, a small flock of laying hens, & of course the pet cow & loyal hound dog. There's rarely a dull moment with these characters around.

With 2026 only hours away, we want to extend our deepest wishes for your health & happiness in this new year. Thank you for your love, friendship, prayers & support through the good times as well as the bad ones -- we appreciate it so much. See ya next time!

To all veterans of our nation's Armed Forces, we offer our deepest gratitude. Thank you for your service! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
