We are known for our easy to pick dwarf apples trees which make it especially fun for children to pick as well! Each year we are open during September & October to offer our fresh apples, grown in our orchard for you to pick! Our orchard features Liberty apples and 5 other new disease-resistance varieties. These varieties allow us to use low spray IPM techniques. So bring your kids, cameras and picnic and come enjoy a fall outing at Liberty Orchard!

Hi folks, Liberty Orchard is now closed for the Pick Your Own season. So many of you have come out the past two days (thank you!) and with this year’s low yield, there just are not enough apples to warrant staying open for You Pick.

We will pre-pick what we can and offer small quantities in the farm stand this coming week starting Monday afternoon 1-5pm. We will let you know when those have sold out as well.

Thanks to those of you who were able to come out, our apologies to those of you that missed out, we hope for a better season next year! 🍎

Liberty Orchard will open for the season this Friday 9/19!

Hours are as follows:
Friday 10am-6pm
Sat/Sun 10am-5pm
M-Th 1pm-5pm

These hours are contingent on as long as the apples hold out and we will post here with updates every few days as we asses how much is left. With the difficult growing year we anticipate it to be a shorter season, so don’t delay your apple picking adventure!

A few reminders:
*half bushel and peck bags will be available for purchase for picking. You are welcome to bring your own bags but we ask that you pick into ours and empty into your own at the end so we can get an accurate volume of picked apples.
*dogs are not allowed in the orchard, this is for biosecurity reasons and the fact that drops are utilized for human consumption. Documented service dogs are of course always welcome.

Hey folks, we hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the VTSU orchard is now closed for the season. The drought has caused the majority of trees to drop their apples early, and after picking today there is almost nothing left. We didn’t necessarily anticipate it being this short of a season, but after not being able to open last year we wanted to give you all the opportunity to pick what little there was. We appreciate your understanding and support, as farmers we have to remain eternally optimistic for a better season next year. We will post here midweek with updates on Liberty Orchard 🍎

VTSU Orchard will open for the season Saturday 9/13! Hours are as follows:

M-F 1-5pm
Sat/Sun 10-5pm

*PLEASE don’t pick apples outside of the designated hours or without paying. As much as we’d love to run this as a community orchard, we pay all associated costs required to run and maintain it, therefore we cannot afford to give apples away for free. We appreciate your understanding!

Greetings apple fans! It’s finally that time of year, Liberty Orchard will open for the season Friday September 19th! Due to some challenging growing conditions this season the apple volume is unfortunately lower than we hoped, so don’t delay on the apple picking adventure this year! We will post here with more updates and hours closer to opening day.

VTSU orchard will also be opening this year! A year of rest and rehabilitation has done the trees a world of good and the orchard will open for the season Saturday September 13th! Hours will be posted here before opening day.

Both orchards will have half bushel and peck bags available for purchase for picking. You are welcome to bring your own bags but we ask that you pick into ours and empty into your own at the end so we can get an accurate volume of picked apples. Please do not pick apples outside of the posted hours of operation.

Good morning Liberty Orchard fans! If you’ve been waiting on picking apples make sure you come see us today! We are limited on bags so we are encouraging folks to bring their own if you’re able. This is our last day (10/13) of the 2024 season, come get your fill of apples and cider while it lasts 🍎

Thanks for another great weekend! We will NOT be open tomorrow 10/7 due to the predicted rain. We WILL be open the rest of the week Tuesday- Thursday 1-5pm weather permitting. We will be open for normal hours this weekend, and it will likely be our last for the season. 🍎
