Per usual, I am just slightly behind the 8 ball in posting about our recent show. We were so happy to be able to attend the Connecticut Morgan Horse Show last week with a small but excited crew!

Kiley and KCE American Flaire (aka Maverick) did a fantastic job at their first Morgan show together and learned so much as a new pair in the ring! Getting a new horse, moving up to bigger shows and moving up to the walk, trot, canter division all in one season is a lot to take on, but Kiley has exceeded all of my expectations and is pushing herself to be the best she can be with every ride! I absolutely cannot wait to see where this team will go and am so glad that I get to help them get there!❤️

I brought Mony's Midnite Dream (aka Jax) down for owner Anna Roberts and while all our rides didn't go quite as I had hoped, I felt he made progress throughout the show and I am very happy with how we finished in our last class! Whether it was an off week, him feeling less confident or just having an "I'd rather not" moment it was important for me to make sure I heard him and used our training rides while at the show to give him the support and confidence he needed to be able to move forward with the show! I preach the philosophy of listening to your horse and being a teammate, so what would I be if I didn't do that even on a big stage with lots of people watching. Yes, that means that it doesn't always look perfect or pretty, but it means that I made a horse happy, comfortable and willing to work for me the next time and for me that will always be a win!🥇

I have to say a huge thank you to the Connecticut Morgan Horse Association and Horse Show Hospitality who went above and beyond to make sure all of us were taken care of throughout the show! By far the most wonderful show hospitality I have ever been a part of! Thank you so much for all your kindness, support and welcoming our little farm into this beautiful show! I also have to thank all of our helpers back at home, who keep things running for me, so I can bring people and horses to these shows and thank you to Nick and Kyle who pitch in and help literally whenever and wherever they are needed! I am so grateful for our little barn family and the lovely community we have grown at our farm!! Now we look on to the NEFHC Show next week and see what will be in store for our riders and horses there!!

Rainy weather did not stop our riders from heading to the first Cheshire Show of the season! While conditions were not ideal, our horses and riders stepped up to new challenges and impressed me so much!! We had riders at their very first horse show, riders moving up to new divisions and riders helping horses gain more confidence and while things didn't always go perfectly our riders learned and made corrections and absolutely blew me away with their growth class to class!

I try hard to instil that working with horses is a partnership and one can't do the job without the other. Yesterday I saw so many truly understand what that meant. We don't go out there for the ribbons, we go out there to push ourselves to be the best horse people we can be and if we miss the mark then we go home and work on it and try better the next time. These horses work hard for us always and they deserve our best every time we put a foot in the stirrup. I'm so incredibly proud of all our riders and cannot wait to see how much stronger they will come out at the next show!!❤️

Thank you so much to the Greater Boston Charity Horse Show for a wonderful start to our show season! While the weather was not ideal, our group of horses and riders and drivers stepped into the ring each and every time pushing themselves outside their comfort zones and taking on new challenges for this season! This is a big season of firsts for our barn, new divisions, new horses and for some both of those. I could not be more proud of what each and every person and horse did at this show. We have homework to do, but I know these pairs will put the work in and come out even stronger for the next shows! Thank you so much to the show committee for all their hard work, to our team for pitching in and lending a hand whenever they could and cheering each other on every moment and to our team at home that kept things going while we were away! It takes a village and I am so grateful for the amazing community we have built and am so truly grateful for our incredible barn family!

I also am so grateful for The Morgan Horse magazine, Saddle Horse Report and National Horseman for all their candid pictures from the show! I literally never had my phone on me for the majority of the show and felt horrible that we didn't get many pictures and coming across all these candids was a big highlight! Now I can't wait to go through the show pictures by Terry Young Photography too! Thank you all for the incredible memories!!❤️

I am so behind in posting this, but it has been a busy stretch as we prepare for our first horse show of the season! We had our first camp at our new facility over April vacation and had an amazing group of kids that were some of our own Serendipity students and also several newcomers to our farm! It was an amazing time introducing so many kids to our farm, our horses and getting to teach everyone some new fun facts, do some crafts and of course get some time in the saddle!!! A huge thank you to Ellen McDonald Benevides for helping out and two of our older campers, Morgan and Makayla, for being helpers when we needed as well!! We hope everyone had a great time and look forward to what our summer camp sessions will offer in July! Stay tuned for dates 😁

Good thing, installing a good whoa button in all our training horses is priority here! Enjoying a lovely workout this morning in our open field only to feel my rein contact change as we were loping around and looked down to see one of my reins was no longer attached...lol! A whoa and hop down and a few minutes hoping to find my connector in the grass (no luck) and a very big pat and extra treats to Jax for being the most wonderful boy! Always exciting!😂 Next step bridleless?🤷🏻‍♀️

So grateful to JETT for coming and massaging a couple more of our lesson horses today! Teddy and Carol really enjoyed themselves and are feeling more relaxed and after a little rest will be ready for their next ride! We could not keep our horses happy, healthy and content without you!❤️
