Long Post Ahead!
After a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to close Katy’s Cupboard.
Katy’s Cupboard started as a way to help neighbors who needed a little extra support, and everything in it came from donations — whether food items, supplies, or monetary contributions. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make that possible and supported the effort along the way for 5 months.
At this point, the donations that kept the pantry stocked have been fully used, and I’m no longer able to continue operating it on my own.
Running it has been meaningful, but it’s also something that requires time, resources, and support to keep going. Right now, it’s time for me to shift my focus to other important areas of my life.
💚 So what do the final days of Katys Cupboard look like? 💚
I have food and household items left to stock until they're gone. Please stock up and take what you or someone in your life needs. The cupboard will stay up until all items are gone (please don't take the cupboard itself).
I would anticipate the stock I have to last about a week or less. I'll continue to post until everything is gone.
Also, if you feel so moved and are able to continue to support some other community groups, here is what I suggest:
- Avant Garden in Anoka is collecting items/funds for mutual aid across the Twin Cities.
- The City of Brooklyn Park is collecting items for distribution to our community.
- Community Aid Network of MN at camn.org helps organize food/supplies donations/distribution to those affected by ICE.
Thank you to everyone who donated, shared resources, or simply helped spread the word. Your generosity truly made a difference for people in our community.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to do this work, and for the kindness that so many of you showed along the way. 💛
