From Sicily to Long Island — Part 2 🇮🇹🍷
Back at City Cellar, Charlie continues the tasting with Mike and Eric — opening two more bottles from the Sambucese collection.
First up:
Catarratto / Chardonnay
70% Catarratto • 30% Chardonnay
A special Sicilian blend made just for Sambucese.
Light, refreshing, and bright with hints of lemongrass and citrus, this one is beautiful with seafood especially pasta with clams or fresh fish.
As Charlie says… it’s basically an appetizer in a glass.
Then we move to the Rosato, made from the legendary Nero d’Avola grape, the king of Sicily.
Light on the nose with fresh strawberry and berry notes, smooth and versatile, perfect for a long lunch, a steak dinner, or simply good company.
And the best part?
Much of Sicily’s soil is naturally pesticide-free, helping produce wines that are clean, expressive, and full of character.
More tastings coming soon from our visit to City Cellar.
Salute 🍷
