It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of K-9 Zeke after battling a long illness.

Zeke faithfully served alongside Officer Porter and the members of the Middleburg Heights Police Department, dedicating his life to serving and protecting our community. His loyalty, courage, and dedication will never be forgotten.

A public service honoring K-9 Zeke will be held at Ripepi Funeral Home 18149 Bagley Road, Middleburg Heights, OH 44130, beginning at 5:30 PM on August 18, 2026.

We ask our community to keep Officer Porter, the Porter family, and the entire Middleburg Heights Police Department in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you, K-9 Zeke, for your service. You were a true hero and a cherished member of our community. Rest easy, Zeke. Your watch is over.

Good afternoon! We wanted to make a post with a few updates and what we plan to do as our page, and goals, continue to grow!

1) We haven't forgot about having a drawing for you all to nominate a first responder so we can draw a name of who will receive a dinner and movie gift card on us! Also, a general drawing for a gas or grocery gift card for those following our page! That will be announced soon. If we were able to do what we always wanted, every single hero would receive dinner and a movie on us ๐Ÿ˜†

2) We've had a few reach out saying we should make a GoFundMe for our fees to become a non-profit. We did see your messages but just haven't responded because we aren't sure what to do. We're still going back and forth on that because we'd feel bad about even posting one for that!

3) We want to start doing a "Hero of the Week" post. We'll make a post that you all can comment under with who you think deserves to be recognized as Hero of the Week! (We know they ALL deserve it!) But we will reach out to whoever gets picked (or whoever nominated them if they aren't following) to find out what you'd like to tell others about them. One of our goals is to show others there is so much more to our heroes than the badge they wear!

4) On our website, we have a Heroes Wall with photos of fallen police officers we've helped raised funds for in the past. But we'd like to extend that here on our page. We'd also love to have a separate post for 1st responders who are no longer with us. It doesn't matter if they passed before we (Gideon and Josiah) were even born! We'd love to share some photos of them and post more about who they were. They all deserve to always be remembered, and we'd like to do our part to make sure that they will never be forgotten. And we think it would be good for us too, so we can also hear about and remember those we've never learned about. We know there are so, so many who have lost their lives while protecting their communities. So please, if you know of any, feel free to post in the comments when we do make a post about it so we can start sharing who they were too!

Thank you all again for supporting us this past weekend!

Thank You!! Even though our turnout wasn't as big as what they were hoping, we greeted many police officers and some other friendly faces over the last two days! Thank you also to those who couldn't make it but still donated! The boys originally planned on donating half of the funds raised to the Brooklyn Heights K9, and the other half toward fees to file to become a non-profit. But once we counted everything up, they didn't feel like that was enough for the K9, so they donated most of what was raised! They agreed that we can just slowly put money aside here or there to start their filing process! They wanted to do even more and felt bad. Their hearts are just that big lol. They are so excited they got to donate!

Because we always want to be transparent as we continue to earn the trust of those who are new to what we do, here is the email receipt! It's just a tiny dent in what Brooklyn Heights needs to raise to reach their goal! So, if you feel led to, please click on their Facebook and click on the pinned link to donate!

Thank you again to all who helped them!!

We just came in! They ended up getting the best visitors before they closed it down, and throughout the day ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thank you to all who stopped by today!! The boys were out over 16 hours total the last 2 days waving down every vehicle that passed and standing up to greet every person that approached their stand! They always enjoy getting to be out there doing things for their heroes!! They had quite a few CPD stop by and loved it! You all are always welcome here like we tell our Brooklyn first responders!

The boys enjoyed seeing each and every one of you! Thank you to those who stopped by for snacks and refreshments!

And thank you Cleveland Police, Brooklyn Police, Brooklyn Heights Police, the two that stopped by on their motorcycles! You made their last 2 days so much brighter! I'm sorry if I missed anybody!

They've had 2 people stop in the past 2 or 2.5 hours so we may end up closing a little before 8! We'll make a post when we go in for the evening!

They're definitely not busy ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ but they still have fun lol

08/15/2026

Last day! Vandalia Ave in Brooklyn. They'll be out until 8 tonight! They pulled out every snack they had hoping big crowds come by ๐Ÿ˜† don't forget if you're a 1st responder, stop by for your free refreshments and sign their stand!

08/15/2026

The boys are getting ready for bed and I overheard them talking about tomorrow and how they can't wait to get back out there. They both keep saying how they have a feeling they'll get more traffic than today. Josiah is excitedly saying "oh man...we can't wait for tomorrow! I have a feeling it's going to be busy. We're so excited!!" But I know they'll be just as grateful if just a hand full stop by. They always are!

I just wanted to share in case anybody wonders if it makes a difference if they stop by. It absolutely does. These boys are looking forward to tomorrow with big hopes they will be busy with selling refreshments and snacks lol. Even if you don't stop but happen to drive by, give them a wave or beep your horn...they wave and smile at every vehicle that passes ๐Ÿ˜†

We just came inside for the night! Thank you to those who took the time to stop over!! The boys are excited for tomorrow and so hopeful for a big turnout with it being Saturday! They still have lots of room for 1st responders to stop by and sign their stand ๐Ÿ˜‰ Two things they love to see coming down the street are 1st responders and motorcycles, so if you're in the area, they'll be outside until 8 tomorrow night! Thank you to the Brooklyn Heights Officer ๐Ÿšจ that stopped by, Cleveland Metroparks police with the horse ๐Ÿ˜, Motorcycle Grinch ๐Ÿ˜†, and Jacob Derbin's Mama and loved ones! ๐Ÿ’™ The boys loved seeing you all and everyone else that stopped by and donated! They will be out again starting at noon tomorrow! The only thing different on the flyer is we may not be purchasing food. We have too many leftovers trying that today and don't want to risk it again tomorrow! We hoped you all enjoyed the pizza if you took some!! The boys said "see you tomorrow!!"

Today has been kinda chill, they said PLEASE come out tomorrow and make them overwhelmingly busy ๐Ÿ˜‚

Josiah is hiding his brace he has to wear from breaking his finger ๐Ÿ˜†
