HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH!
Let’s KICK IT OFF for this Blackity Black 1st of the Month!
BLACK OWNED ALERT!!! TCK will be sharing and using Black Owned Products all month looooong! Let’s get into it!
This first feature is on A Dozen’s Cousins Limited Edition Creole Red Beans.
Growing up, founder Ibraheem Basir's kitchen was a melting pot of Creole, Caribbean, and Latin American cooking. As he got older and learned the importance of eating naturally, he hated that it was so hard to find convenient foods that were both healthy and authentic. He started A Dozen Cousins, inspired by his daughter and her 11 cousins, so that it would be easier to enjoy authentic cultural recipes made with wholesome ingredients. Today, A Dozen Cousins is on a mission to eliminate socioeconomic health disparities in the US.
We love that this brand also cares about the impact of food justice in Black and Brown communities and is using it’s platform to make a difference through food! Get into it!!!!
We tried this in our latest recipe The Ribeye Steak & Pickled Jalapeño and Onion Torta with a side of Sweet Tostones and Lime Crema For dipping. It hit yaw!
It gave this sandwich an extra kick of flavor and the heftiness we needed to end the day. Go support this brand and have it our way or keep it traditional with rice. Either way you will be pleasantly surprised by the how they tapped into bayou with this one.
