How did we get so lucky?
We were introduced to Evan Gianfriddo last year as a jazz musician who might fit our dinner series needs.
What we received was so much more.
One call to Evan before each event immediately distilled the vibe we were looking for and he has consistently delivered. Both his own extraordinary musical talent plus the incredible bands he has pulled together. The duo with beautiful vocals, trios and quartets.
We are so thankful for his professionalism, happy vibe and talent.
Here is a blurb from his website so everyone can learn about this homegrown talent.
Evan Gianfriddo is a versatile freelance musician based out of Woodstock, Connecticut. He is a multi-instrumentalist with a B.A. in music from Eastern Connecticut Sate University. He is an experienced and highly competent musician at both guitar and electric/upright bass, making contributions to the New England music scene on both instruments.
Evan has performed at dozens of venues across New England in his short time as a gigging musician. He is both a sideman and band leader for many local ensembles. He has great experience in live music which ranges from jazz trios, combos, and jam sessions, to hip-hop and funk bands, and pits for musical theatre productions. While in his undergrad Evan led ECSU’s Jazz Combo for 3 years and began teaching. Evan is current an educator at Summit Music Center in Manchester CT, as well as a freelance practice. He provides individual and group lessons in guitar, bass, music theory, jazz improvisation, as well as audio engineering and production. He also works as a sound engineer for The Stomping Ground, a popular live music venue in Putnam CT.
