Don’t let people tell you different - working from home can be a trap! If you’re not careful, you can go days with barely any human contact or even fresh air 😭

I had some business in BedStuy this morning which required me to leave home, so I traded my pj’s for big girl clothes and headed out. Business meeting finished but I had to check-in on my interns for a quick minute so I nstead of rushing back to my couch office, I decided to find a spot to post up for a couple of hours in exchange for a hot beverage and some tasty snacks…

Turns out I was a short walk from one of my faves - on Lewis and Decatur.

Say less.

Exquisite tea blends and scrumptious pastries, served with a smile by the lovely staff. Jamila and her husband have built a business that feels like home from the moment you walk-in. This latte is just about done so I’m already contemplating my next beverage…what should I get?

Some Saturday mornings don’t need motivation. They need routine.

Wake up.
Wash your face.
Brush your teeth.
Make your to-do list while you’re in the shower, washing your hair and wearing whitening strips, listening to 1010 wins so you can get the lowdown on traffic.

Breakfast time now - ditch the decision paralysis. After five days of eating eggs, a bowl of something crunchy is a sweet treat. Set up my bowl and then pause for a second in the city where ‘go mode’ is a way of life to the point that we define time differently here - I’ll get to that in a New York minute. But for now savor the moment.

And then just like that, it’s back to reality - honking horns, double-parked cars, trains running on their own time. Thankfully you’ve had your morning reset. It’s go time.

Ready for the second drop in our Season of Love?

You know we had to bring it to Brooklyn, Fort Greene specifically. Inspiration courtesy of Syd & Dre, from the classic love story in the movie Brown Sugar.

This tribute set is as much about their roller coaster love as it is about the tie that binds them over the years - their love of hip hop.

The movie opens and closes with the question, “so when did you first fall in love with hip hop?”, and for me, the love affair started from out the gate - Sugar Hill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow, Kool Moe Dee…snatching cassette tapes from my friends’ much older brothers and singing along to lines like “white liiiiinnneeesss…blowing through my miiiiindddd” and “three days later, go see the doctorrrrr.” Like whuttttt??

Ahhh…misbegotten youth!

Lighting these candles while watching Brown Sugar was like a self-indulgent walk down memory lane. Thank you to the cast and crew for making a classic that hits every single time!

And while you’re here, if you are a hip hop head too, tell me - when did YOU first fall in love with hip hop?

What does love look like in New York?

Coffee, light and regular.
A baconeggandcheeseonaroll, egg fried, medium.
Long on walks. Short on patience. Big hearts.

This is Season of Love 🤍

A limited-edition series inspired by the love stories that live in this city, told through our scented candle collection.

I’m starting with an Upper West Side story —because that’s where my New York story began. Lazy Sunday brunches on Amsterdam Ave, picnics at dusk listening to the Philharmonic, concerts at Summerstage. It was a glorious time.

Tell me yours.

What’s your New York love story?

When your word is bond! promised to find us and support, she made good on her promise and stopped by our booth. I know how insanely busy it is this time of year and I am so touched that Elisha would come out and find us today!

And to seal the deal, she picked up a jar of our Limited Edition Cranberry Classic - a fundraiser that we are delighted to do with , an organization committed to helping high school girls explore STEM careers.

Doesn’t it feel great to do good?

We are so excited to be collaborating with Girls Who Code Columbia on a limited edition of our Cranberry Classic Granola - bright, tart, cozy, and available now at Union Square Holiday Market, online at our website and 🤎

I come from a STEM family — the kind of home where curiosity was normal and figuring things out was part of everyday life. So supporting an organization that teaches girls to problem-solve, and build with confidence hits close in a really beautiful way.

A portion of the proceeds from our limited edition jar goes toward helping Girls Who Code Columbia keep doing what they do: opening doors, teaching skills, and showing young women just how powerful their ideas can be.

I love being able to invest in the next wave of thinkers, makers, and builders — and celebrating a program that’s genuinely changing lives.

If you want to try the Cranberry Classic and support the cause, it’s live now - get it at Union Square Holiday Market (Booth B18) or online. Thank you for showing love in all the ways you do ✨

Tag a woman in STEM who you think would vibe with this post! I’ll start in my own family and so many more ❤️❤️

There’s one in every group.

The planner, the peacemaker, the one with emergency snacks, tissues, gum, and a backup plan for your backup plan. Remembers everyone’s birthday, knows your work drama better than HR, and somehow always has the perfect advice. STAYS ready and never has to get ready. This gem of a friend deserves the Brooklyn Heights Bestie.

Unlock the scent of fresh rain water falling off the leaves in a forest, with droplets hitting the mossy ground and hints of lavender floating in the breeze. It’s a small thank you for the one who’s been gentle-parenting everyone after bottomless mimosas every Sunday at brunch
