Not gon’ lie and not gon’ cry - around here it’s still breakfast/brunch until the last seating at 4:00 and we are surely going to be bumrushing that door at 359 talking bout “y’all got bottomless mimosas until 4, right??”

On a day like today, when you are dancing between the raindrops and trying to time the next deluge just right, I say throw all that out the window and come hang out with us and our FAD friends at St Paul’s Church on Court Street at Bergen St in Brooklyn!

Rainy days can be a DRAG but we are cozy down here under the church, with bumping tunes and someone just walked around with delicious pizza! So if you are waiting out the rain, this is as good a place as any!

Shout out to all the people who defied the weather Gods and not only came through but came to support their favourite artisans! We love you!

If you haven’t lived here, you can’t understand it. What it’s like to love through a multi-decade drought to finally dance in the waterfall. Twenty-seven years and now we’re here! And what a run dem boyz aka the New York Knicks, are having and the celebration starts now.

I decided to make a special edition of our best-selling candle, the New York State of Mind, because nothing else could capture the excitement and energy that is gripping the streets of every borough and every county in the City. Me myself personally, I will be burning this candle before, during and after the game in some type of purification/gratitude ritual, plus I promise to do planking three times a day - gotta be ready in case Coach Brown needs to put me in!

Don’t let people tell you different - working from home can be a trap! If you’re not careful, you can go days with barely any human contact or even fresh air 😭

I had some business in BedStuy this morning which required me to leave home, so I traded my pj’s for big girl clothes and headed out. Business meeting finished but I had to check-in on my interns for a quick minute so I nstead of rushing back to my couch office, I decided to find a spot to post up for a couple of hours in exchange for a hot beverage and some tasty snacks…

Turns out I was a short walk from one of my faves - on Lewis and Decatur.

Say less.

Some Saturday mornings don’t need motivation. They need routine.

Wake up.
Wash your face.
Brush your teeth.
Make your to-do list while you’re in the shower, washing your hair and wearing whitening strips, listening to 1010 wins so you can get the lowdown on traffic.

Breakfast time now - ditch the decision paralysis. After five days of eating eggs, a bowl of something crunchy is a sweet treat. Set up my bowl and then pause for a second in the city where ‘go mode’ is a way of life to the point that we define time differently here - I’ll get to that in a New York minute. But for now savor the moment.

And then just like that, it’s back to reality - honking horns, double-parked cars, trains running on their own time. Thankfully you’ve had your morning reset. It’s go time.
