🖤❤️💚Juneteenth commemorates June 19th, 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and enslaved African Americans learned that slavery had been legally abolished over two years earlier. Juneteenth was designated a federal holiday in 2021 to officially honor and celebrate those whose sacrifices built this nation and remind us of the continuing fight for equality. 💚❤️🖤
