Trent Family Farm

Trent Family Farm Trent Family Farm is located in Charlotte County Virginia. We do not have a website, there is really no need. We are just a family farm.

We sell grapes to wineries, grain to companies and have blueberries for 2 months out of the year. We have had 2 weddings at our barn with family friends.

We had a great visit yesterday! Agritourism is growing in Charlotte County!

🌻🚜 A Day Celebrating Charlotte County Agriculture and Agritourism! 🚜🌻

Charlotte County Administration staff recently had the pleasure of joining the Virginia Tourism Destination Development Manager, Jennifer Kohms, for a special agritourism tour across our county, coordinated by Joanne Jones at the Charlotte County Extension Office. The day highlighted the agricultural businesses, family farms, and agritourism destinations that make Charlotte County such a unique place to live, work, and visit.

From the stunning blooms and breathtaking gardens at Deb’s Daylilies, to the locally crafted oils and vinegars from Myra’s Table at Trent Family Farms, and finishing with a hands-on flower arranging workshop with Archlynn Farm, the tour showcased the innovation, hospitality, and entrepreneurial spirit of our local agricultural community.

We are incredibly grateful to Debra Vaughan of Deb’s Daylilies, Kevin and Myra Trent of Trent Family Farm and Myra’s Table, and Amy Carwile of Archlynn Farm for opening their doors, sharing their stories, and demonstrating how agriculture continues to diversify and thrive in Charlotte County. Their passion for farming, education, and community engagement left a lasting impression on everyone who participated.

A special thank you goes to the Charlotte County Extension Office for organizing this outstanding experience and helping connect local agriculture with tourism opportunities that strengthen our economy and celebrate our rural heritage.

Charlotte County is blessed with hardworking farmers, beautiful landscapes, and unique destinations that offer visitors an authentic taste of Southside Virginia. We are proud to support and promote the people who make it all possible!

I just love when my followers send me pictures of how they are using Myra's Table products! Linda Hamlett Childress sent this telling me she used a leftover oil bottle to make and store her dressing made with the Champagne White Balsamic and cold-pressed Pecan Oil. Yummy and great way to store dressing! Thanks Linda ❤️

You have probably heard that Virginia is experiencing drought. Most of the state is officially classified as experiencing "severe drought" with a small section of south central Virginia in an "extreme drought."
Virginia Department of Environmental Quality monitors our drought conditions and is meeting regularly to assess the situation. You can view their data monitoring groundwater and streamflow here: https://www.deq.virginia.gov/water/water-quantity/drought

From the most recent drought report: "Recent precipitation has been below normal throughout the Commonwealth, especially in the central and southern regions of the state. Soil moisture conditions are much below normal statewide, with significant drying occurring during the past two weeks. Streamflow levels are well below normal, with numerous stream gages in the Dan, New, and Rappahannock River basins setting provisional single-day record lows. Groundwater levels have declined across the Commonwealth and are much below normal in northern areas of the state, along the Blue Ridge Mountains, and around the City of Roanoke. In addition to significantly warmer than normal temperatures, most of the Commonwealth is forecasted to see less than a tenth of an inch of rain in the next week.

DEQ is working with local governments, public water works, and water users in the affected areas to ensure that conservation and drought response plans and ordinances are followed. Localities and residents that are supplied water from the Potomac River should consult the Metropolitan Washington Water Supply and Drought Awareness Response Plan for specific triggers and actions to be taken. All Virginians are encouraged to conserve water supplies by minimizing water use, monitoring drought conditions, and detecting and repairing leaks."
