Light touches of frost have killed some plants while the Dahlias are still pushing out blooms. The leaves are just starting to change here, with the sumac being one of the first and my favorite every year.

That’s a wrap for the season.

Last weekend’s frost got us. Not everything but some of the more sensitive didn’t make it through

In the past few days, the air has taken on that unmistakable fall chill, with misty mornings and more trees turning shades of gold and red. While beautiful, it’s a clear sign that it’s time to wind things down.

The u-pick is officially closed for the season. But we’ll still have a few bouquets available by request and stocked .

It was a tough, dry season. There were some real highs and a lot of hard work. But we’re proud of what we grew, and grateful for everyone who supported us along the way.

Thank you for another season of beauty, resilience, and growth. 🌸

Fair weekend is here, and every morning the road past the farm hums with a steady stream of cars heading to the Common Ground Country Fair. The anticipation in the air feels a little electric. ✨

Meanwhile, the fields are still bursting with blooms, and this weekend’s bouquets are giving full sunset vibes with peach, orange, burgundy, and lots of purple verbena.

We’ll be open all day Friday and Saturday, 12 until sunset. After the fair, swing by, wander the fields, and pick a little piece of autumn to bring home.

The dahlias took their time this year, but wow, they were worth the wait!

We’re looking forward to a stretch of sunny days after two rainy weekends, and it’s shaping up to be a beautiful one. Here’s what’s happening:

I spent the last light taming the wildness: snipping spent zinnias and sunflowers, lightening the amaranth, and clearing a tangle of cosmos. Deadheading keeps the blooms coming until first frost. Right now, it’s a beautiful, buzzing mess with flowers and bees everywhere.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Belfast Garden Club’s tour yesterday! We had such a wonderful time sharing our flowers with fellow plant lovers and talking all things plants and gardens. We’re feeling the love and are so grateful for the opportunity to connect with our community. 🥰

We’re honored to be included in the Belfast Garden Club’s Open Gardens tour.

We’re welcoming visitors to the farm this Saturday, August 16, from 10:00 to 4:00.

Admission is $5 and goes to support the garden club’s educational programs and public-service activities, including maintenance of 13 public gardens in Waldo county.

Hope you all can stop by! And if not, we’ll be open until the first frost, Thursday through Saturday from 4:00-dark.
