A Big Thank You!

We want to make a moment to thank everyone that came out for our 12th Anniversary! And also to all the folks that worked behind the scenes to put it together and help day of. Light snacks, live music and animal adoptions all happened that day and the weather held out for us! So thank you again to our volunteers and community, we wouldn't be here without your continued support!

Contra Friday Tomorrow August 21st

It's Contra Friday tomorrow night the 21st of August over at the Marsh River Theatre. That means our doors will stay open until 8:30pm! It was great to see some new faces and meet some new folks who'd never made it into our little Co-op before. 

Freezer Repair Fundraiser!

We're still running our art fundraiser to help with the cost of the recent repair of our new two door freezer. Did you know that all of the art on the wall are original works and not prints? Come in and check out the works of local artist of Jill Stasium!

Join us for our 12th Anniversary with Safe Harbor Sanctuary and Live Music 11am - 1pm Tomorrow!

We'll be having live music and animals for adoption from Safe Harbor Sanctuary from 11am-1pm. We'll also have light refreshments (lemonade and popcorn). Thank you to everyone that have worked so hard over the years to make our little Co-op a success!

Last music on the porch Marsh River Cooperative of the year! Come to Brooks, eat an entire bakery case Ralph's Cafe then head to hear some beautiful harmonies, amazing fiddle, guitar and bass playing while pondering what cheese and wine you will buy. Cami Beth Jewett

Local Low Bush Blueberries are in!

It's already that time of year when we receive our first deliveries from a fellow small local Co-op (Belfast Blueberry Cooperative). Really nice looking(and very tasty) low bush berries in regular and kitchen grade quarts. Come on in and get some before then end of the season!

Join us next Saturday the 1st of August for a celebration of our 12th Anniversary! Hard to imagine that we've been open that long in our small Community of Brooks.

Music on the porch presents Justin Boss Music Saturday July 25th (11am-1pm) here at the MRC!

Coming up this Saturday the 25th, the MRC welcomes Justin Boss to our music on the porch series coordinated by one of our volunteer board members. Come to the Brooks downtown and enjoy the live music while wandering our small community!

You can also wander over to the Brooks Community Shop in the park, have brunch at Ralph's Cafe or have dinner at Cal's or go to the Crock Pot Extravaganza over at the Varney. Lot's to do in small town Brooks!

Hi Everyone,

  We want to take a moment here at the MRC to acknowledge all the local artists and crafters that have worked with us and supported us since we opened. Many of them have helped with various tasks throughout the store, either helping with our galleries or in our craft area through the years. We are very happy to have their continued support!

Please welcome to our gallery space the works of local artist Jill Stasium who is helping us with a fundraiser to help offset the costs of the repair to our new two door freezer. We'll be posting a full video on instagram so you can see the whole display, but as always they are better in person. Sit and have a coffee in our café space and take in her work!

We would also want to take a moment to thank one of our local crafters/consigners, Martha at Featherstone Fiber for the lovely stained glass window logo she did for the store. We've thought that it would be really neat to have something like this in the store and with her help it's become a reality!

MRC Staying open later for MRT Contra Fridays!

We've received feedback from a few folks that they would like it if the Co-op could stay open a bit later on MRT Contra Dance Fridays for a few last minute shopping needs. We've heard you and we are going to give it a try, so for the upcoming Contra on July 17th our Manager will keep the doors open until approx. 8:15pm and see how it goes. Our first and foremost goal is to listen to our members and customers and see if we can't make it happen!

In that vein we'd also love to hear what our members/customers would like to see on our shelves. Maybe we can save you a trip into Belfast or some other area if we are able to stock a few items for you.

Music on the Porch tomorrow here at the MRC 11am-1pm!

It's looking like the weather might agree with us (knock on wood) tomorrow for another music on the porch event here at the MRC. If you've never explored small town Brooks you could enjoy brunch over at Ralph's Café, wander over to the music after and spend some time exploring the downtown and park(or our little Co-op). If you are in town later you could enjoy a dinner from the local food truck (Cal's) as well!

Thank you volunteers!

As we move into the summer season we want to take a moment to acknowledge all the hard work done by our volunteer teams. Everyone came together and did a great job making the Co-op ship shape for summer!

There is always work going on in the background to support the Co-op. From the folks who have helped with building tasks, to planting the flowers every year out front, to working in the store, doing order pickups and so many other things.

Yesterday a team of volunteers got together (in brutal heat) and help design/decorate our float for today’s Annual Brooks 4th of July Parade which is always a big hit. We want to thank everyone for working very hard on it as well as the volunteers that helped in store to make sure everything went smoothly. If you weren’t able to attend but still want to see the parade follow the Facebook link below posted by the Town Rec Department.

We also can’t forget our volunteer Board of Directors that helps manage and make decisions regarding the Co-op on a weekly (if not daily) basis. We wouldn’t be here without everyone’s continued support of our small little Co-op here in Brooks!
