Y’all! The squeal I let out when I saw this little guy on my Passion Vine this morning probably woke up some neighbors! I counted at least 8 little Gulf Fritillary caterpillars munching away. We can’t wait to watch them grow into beautiful butterflies.

Today is Earth Day! And a perfect day to work on our gardens. We planted a small garden area in our front yard today. We have some flowers and plants for the pollinators. As well as shelter for frogs, toads, and lizards. And baths, feeders, and houses for the birds that visit. We will continue to improve and expand this area and hopefully be able to provide a little refuge for the wildlife in our area!

For being so small, these quail eggs are surprisingly rich in nutrients! They are loaded with vitamins, minerals, proteins, and good fats. You can prepare and eat them just like you would chicken eggs.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, I know. I have wanted to, but just haven’t found the words. We have gone through some big life changes lately, and it’s been an adjustment. But now we’re on the other end of it, and it seems like things are starting to settle. We’ve been working on our food forest, which has grown exponentially! And our chickens have been providing us with a beautiful array of lovely eggs. I hope to start posting more now that we’re back in the groove of things, so keep an eye on our page for new and exciting things!
