Update on the upcoming meeting for the land rezoning on Lake Lindsey Rd.

I have received the petition that was filed for this part of land. They do not want to put residential homes on this site. They are wanting to build a member only golf club/resort. They will have an 18 hole course and a smaller 12 hole course. There will also be a resort, cabins/cottages, restaurant, pro shop, and a clubhouse. From my understanding this will be a member only place of business.

This will not impact public schools since it is not generating new homes. They will handle their own water source with wells and such. There is no impact on that land since it was recently cleared when the pines were harvested so the only thing lost is the smaller trees under 18 inches that were replanted.

While I am happy this is not going to be residential, I am still not really okay with any development of this property.

The meeting is still scheduled to be on 9/9 at 9am. If I hear of any changes I will update on here.

If you have talking points on good reasoning of why we do not need this to be developed, that would be greatly appreciated so that we can go into this meeting having a solid case to bring to them.
