Our farm is dedicated to giving flower lovers beautiful cut flowers. We sell fresh locally grown bouquets during the growing season.

This week we’re featuring one of our favorite heirloom chrysanthemums from last season — Kelvin Mandarin.

With its glowing shades of apricot, mandarin orange, and soft sunset tones, this variety feels like autumn in flower form.

One of the reasons we love Kelvin Mandarin is its unique button-style blooms. Each stem is covered with many perfectly shaped flowers that add texture, warmth, and charm to fall bouquets.

As we prepare for another season of heirloom mums, we’re looking back at some of the varieties that made last fall so special while we patiently wait for this year’s blooms to arrive.

🌸 Meet Our Mums Series: Seaton’s Je’Dore

As we wait for this year’s heirloom chrysanthemums to begin blooming, we thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the varieties that stole our hearts last fall.
First up is Seaton’s J’Adore or as our tag has it as Seaton’s Je’Dore

With its warm apricot, peach, and golden tones, this variety feels like autumn wrapped into a flower.
The unique petals give it incredible texture, making it one of those blooms that catches your eye both in the field and in a bouquet.
One of the things we love most about heirloom chrysanthemums is that they bloom when many other flowers are slowing down. While much of the garden is transitioning into fall, these beauties are just getting started.

A new month means new plans growing on the farm
… and we are already dreaming about FALL flowers.

This month we are busy preparing our beds for the blooms we hope to share from September through November.
We’re especially excited to continue growing our heirloom chrysanthemums alongside some of
our favorite fall companions
like hibiscus mahogany, zinnias, marigolds, and more.

🌸 Flower of the Week: Zinnia Salmon 🌸
If there’s one flower that captures the warmth of summer, it’s this one.

Our Zinnia Salmon has quickly become one of our favorite flowers on the farm.

With its beautiful shades of coral, peach, and soft salmon, it adds so much color, texture, and charm to every bouquet.

Not only are zinnias productive in our Florida heat, but they continue to reward us with armloads of blooms throughout the season.

They’re cheerful, long-lasting, and always seem to brighten a room.
This variety will also play an important role in our upcoming fall bouquets, where it pairs beautifully with heirloom chrysanthemums, marigolds, amaranth, and other seasonal favorites.

Flower of the Week ✨🌼
Lisianthus Corelli Sugoi 3 Yellow
We started these lisianthus plants back in November, so finally seeing them bloom like this feels incredibly rewarding for us.

This season definitely tested them though.

We had some very cold weather here on the farm with wind chills that felt as low as 9 degrees, and they did suffer a bit from those conditions.
But despite the cold, they kept pushing through
… and now we’re finally able to enjoy these beautiful harvests.

The soft buttery yellow tones, ruffled petals, and elegant shape make this variety feel so delicate and dreamy in bouquets.
They truly glow in the sunlight.

And if you look closely
… yes, the lovebugs
are officially back in Florida.
😂
Anything light colored or white instantly attracts them, and they kept trying to land on the blooms while we were holding these flowers for photos.
Honestly, it made us laugh because that’s just part of flower farming life here in our zone.

Even with all the weather ups and downs, this bloom was absolutely worth the wait.

Preparing for more
heirloom chrysanthemums

One thing we’ve been especially excited about lately is finally moving our mums into a brand new bed here on the farm.
🌿
These are heirloom chrysanthemums we originally started from small plants last year, and it’s been amazing watching them slowly grow and establish over time.

This season we’re also adding four more varieties to our growing mum collection,
which makes us even more excited for what fall could look like on the farm.

Growing mums here in Florida definitely takes patience and planning.
While many flowers struggle through the intense heat of spring and summer, we spend those months caring for these plants, pinching them back, feeding them, and helping them establish strong roots so they can finally shine later in the year.

And honestly
… we are still learning how to care for them but once we see them bloom it truly makes it feel is all worth it.

When fall arrives and many flowers stop blooming in our zone, chrysanthemums begin to take center stage with all their texture, warmth, and rich seasonal colors.

We already can’t wait to create bouquets using these blooms this fall.

There’s just something so nostalgic and cozy about heirloom mums that makes us fall in love with them more every season.

Flower of the Week 🌻✨

Sunflower Gold Lite

This is easily one of our favorite sunflowers growing on the farm right now.

💛

There’s something about Gold Lite that feels so soft and cheerful at the same time.

The petals glow with that warm golden color, but what really makes this variety special to us is the center.

Instead of the darker traditional sunflower center, this one stays lighter and blends so beautifully with the petals.

It gives bouquets such a softer and more elegant look while still bringing all the happiness sunflowers are known for.

We love adding these into our arrangements because they instantly brighten everything around them.

And honestly…

whenever we have extra stems, they almost always end up in a vase on our table at home. 🌿

✨ They’re just one of those flowers that make a space feel warm, welcoming, and full of summer.

This sunflower has definitely earned a permanent spot in our future growing seasons here at Flower Shower Farm.
