Hey folks! It’s been a long, busy summer.

Congratulations to Levi on being named a finalist for Bracken County Agriculturalist of the Year!

Levi has embraced the opportunities that agricultural education provides. Through his Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), he's worked hard to build and grow his swine operation while also expanding into honeybee production and vegetable crops. And when he's not tending to his own projects, Lance keeps him busy on the tractor putting up hay all summer long.

In a time when fewer young people are choosing to stay connected to agriculture, it's encouraging to see students like Levi who have a genuine passion for the land, livestock, and the future of farming. Programs like FFA help develop the next generation of agricultural leaders, and we're grateful for the role Robertson County FFA has played in his journey. Having an amazing advisor/ag teacher in Mr. Gifford to support and encourage his passions has made all the difference in Levi’s success in school.

We're incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication he puts into agriculture every day. Excited for his future! 🌾🐖🐝🚜

This 2nd parity sow laid down and had 10 big healthy pigs unassisted today. The boys discovered them when they went to feed her this evening. 10 born, all 10 alive and thriving. Didn’t pull any pigs, she passed her afterbirth and was up and drinking…

That’s how farrowing is supposed to work. This girl has a home here as long as she’s alive 🙂

We had a great day leading a session on swine with the Robertson County Livestock Club! Teaching about raising pigs, how to care for and break show pigs, and more. Loved their enthusiasm for trying their hand at showing the pigs!

Before you declare war on weeds…some of them might just help fight the seasonal allergies you’re battling!

If you’re like me, the allergy season has come on like a freight train this week.

Last year I made a healthy stockpile for my home apothecary. Mullein, purple dead nettle, and goldenrod tincture are my triple threat for dealing with these pesky allergies.

Amazing how many “weeds” turn out to have a purpose if you slow down long enough to learn them. 🌱
