The other day my wife and I were talking about some of the foods our mom’s use to make that were our favorites. I responded Lamb Stew. I know it is hot out but it is in the pot and we will see how it compares. She has already mastered the corn bread from scratch. 100% American Lamb, 100% Columbia Sheep!!

Our first time exhibiting at the Indiana State Fair was good to us both in the Open Show and the Indiana Show. Still room for improvement. Winning the Premier Indiana Columbia Exhibitor and the Junior Champion Ram with our March Ram Lamb (pictured below) was certainly the highlight!!

We like playing the radio in the barn and a couple ewes must have been listening to Frank Sinatra songs because they were caught “spreading the news!”

Yesterday was a long day. Left SE Indiana and headed to Iowa where we picked up 9 head of Columbia yearling ewes, fall ewe lamb, and spring ewe lambs from Charles & Louise Worm. Fortunately they met me halfway and was able to get home late last night.

What is this concoction? We use a tube of grease and some tempera powdered paint mix real well and apply to the chest floor of our rams with a brush instead of a marking harness. I had extra help today catching the rams.
