If you’ve been on the farm tour, you’ve heard the history of the land and people who created what is now Jer-Lindy Farms, including the nearby history of the Jennissen family. In his development of Bernadotte Bourbon, Lucas dusted off the history of his great-great-grandfather Charles Sjostrom, who stepped off a train July 3, 1885, about 2 blocks from where this bourbon was distilled in New Ulm Minnesota. You can read more about this bourbon and the family’s history in a multi-part story at Redhead Creamery Spirits, and you get get a bottle of this single barrel release at our shop.

Most days are open for On-Farm Pickup all month! We are also doing dropsites again this year! Nuts & crackers get packaged separately so that these will be good through Christmas Day.

We enjoy learning from and working with the Stearns Conservation District. We have re-signed our application for the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program for a 10-year commitment to water and the environment.

It’s been a minute but we wanted to thank all the friends, neighbors, volunteers and likely underpaid (gasp) employees and judges for putting on a great 2025 Stearns County 4-H show and Stearns County Fair-Sauk Centre, MN!

Our dairy participants are bursting at the seams while support is fantastic in our livestock auctions. This year our farm helped present 5 dairy, 5 rabbit and 2 sheep projects plus well over a dozen non-livestock projects in the 4-H building.

Our children grow and we thank you for helping provide these experiences, whether you watched a show, bought auction animals or just rode a carnival ride. We had a great week and it was so fun to see everyone.

Cheers to World Milk Day and the kick off to June Dairy Month! The farm team has been working overtime this week to get our first cutting of hay done! We will take 4 cuttings of hay during the summer to help provide the herd with feed year round. We should be wrapping up (literally) today! Just in time to start Curdfest prep! Hope to see you all on June 15th at Redhead Creamery LLC!

We are just over one month in and this is now our evening entertainment.
White - milked!
Yellow - eligible to milk
Red - overdue for milking… go fetch!
Bottom left is how many cows had incomplete milk-outs on at least one teat (high since we are still all learning, humans, cows and robotics included)
(Green means feed only, don’t milk)

These two pictures are about five hours apart when we went and found nearly all the cows that either weren’t showing up for work, her teats weren’t milked out, or that we thought might be late the next time.

How it started, and how it’s going…

We are on day 3 of milking robots (I think? The days are blending together). It’s a huge learning curve for humans but the cows have been very tolerant so far of the switch! We are currently running 24 hours a day to make sure we can continue to get all the cows milked on time. It’s getting faster and they’re learning!

Thank you to employees, family, and friends for the support through your kind messages, extra help on the farm and in the creamery, and even making us all meals!

Also special thank you to the Farm Systems team for helpings us (and your continued help the next few months as we continue installing 2 more robots) and fielding all our questions and staying up with us at all hours of the night as well for a few days!
