We are bringing in a crew to graft over some older vines to better clones/varieties. If you want to do this contact me. It’s not cheap to get a crew here from Cali so more acres the better.

Two record high this week and maybe a record low of 39 next week. It happens in a drought up here. Wild temp swings and lots of hail in storms when they do show up.

Thinking about all my friends that will be out cutting buds this week. Bud 1 is alive and 2 is dead. I got a $30 microscope camera to take these pics. Unfortunately, I learned the difference last year. These are cross sections and not sliced parallel to the shoot as usual. It’s easy to cut too deep and think the bud is alive if you slice parallel which is the standard procedure. Pro tip: Use a sharp razor blade and wear a glove on the hand holding the cane. My fingers were sliced many times during dissection. If you haven’t finished pruning, check the bottom 4 buds in each cane. If you have 50% + damage you are going to have to leave many more buds than usual. This will create problems in the future you will have to fix later on, but we live for today.
I know not what tomorrow brings, but I know who holds my future in His hands- I don’t think that’s from the Bible but keeps popping up in my head.
