Rest in peace, my sweet Liza Jane. ❤️

You truly were the best of the best. You had so much personality, were gentle and easygoing, and were always the first in line for worms. If another hen found a good bug or worm, you somehow always managed to snag it first!

You blessed us with almost 600 big, beautiful brown eggs, and you were one of the heartiest, most dependable hens in the flock. Your presence in the coop will be deeply missed, but your legacy lives on in every egg you gave and every smile you brought us.

Run free sweet girl. Thank you for everything. 🌈🐔❤️

Biscuit and Leo are definitely helping me heal. ❤️ They’re coming along so well, and Leo is finally starting to play a little more every day. He still hisses when I pick him up but he is much easier to find these days! Watching these two little “barn-ish” kitties learn to trust has been so much fun. I just love these sweet little angels! 🐾

Instead of MoonScott farm funny content. This was my afternoon 😭

Life can change in an instant.

I was incredibly lucky today, and I truly believe God had His hand on me. I also believe this brand-new 2026 Honda Pilot helped save my life.

This afternoon, I was hit head-on by a drunk driver. I’m beat up, bruised, battered, and unbelievably sore—but I’m alive.

Please pray for the little girls who were in the other truck. They were injured, and their dad was drunk. One person’s decision to drink and drive almost took four lives today. 💔

I am so incredibly thankful to be alive.

And to the Good Samaritan who pulled me from my car—God bless you. I hope I get the chance to thank you in person. ❤️

To the woman who stayed and witnessed everything, thank you. Thank God for people like you. 🥺

Please, if you’re thinking about drinking, don’t get behind the wheel. Call someone. Get a ride. Nothing is worth risking innocent lives. 😞

A little stumped! 🤔🥚 This little egg was in the nesting box today, and it definitely looks like it came from a newbie layer. My choices are one of the Midnight Marans, a Golden Comet, or one of the Brahmas. It was pretty small, which makes me think it’s a first or second egg since they usually start out on the smaller side until they get the hang of laying. I’m guessing it’s from one of the Golden Comets…but it doesn’t really look like a Golden Comet egg to me! 🧐 I’ll try to hang out and keep an eye out tomorrow to see who is in the nesting box!

A little pasture time! 🌿 After weeks of heat, today was a breath of fresh air. It rained most of the day, the temperatures stayed in the 70s, and everyone—goats, chickens, and humans—was happy to enjoy the cooler weather. 💚☔️

Bumblefoot treatment is officially underway! 🐔 This is a longer video but it took me a hot minute! 😬

I soaked her foot for 5–10 minutes in epson salts, applied Prid (drawing salve), covered it with a nonstick pad, and gently wrapped it with self-adhesive animal wrap. I honestly wasn’t sure the wrap would stay on, but it stuck really well!

Tomorrow I’ll remove the bandage and see if I can gently remove the affected area. It would definitely be easier with two people, but I managed to get it done anyway… because that’s just what I do. 😂 Also, Zoe didn’t like her hen being in that tub! Very concerned!

I love volunteers! Looks like pumpkins coming up in the paddock area! We gave the goats about 100 donated pumpkins last fall!! 👏 Now, will they eat them before they are ready? 💯 # faintinggoats

Leo and his little toe beans!! 🥰 He is coming along. Still hisses and hides, like he forgets that he’s safe. 😞 But he’s 💯 times better than last week, he’s definitely gaining some weight and just looks so much better. He and Biscuit will go back to the vet on Friday. I just love em! 💕
