We are raising our young calves in 3 systems. The first 2 months in individual huts, 3-4 months old in a building in groups of 6 and the 5-6 months old in groups of 15. Good feed, dry bedding and fresh air keeps them healthy.

We like the easy calving of the Jersey breed but some calves are really small when they are just born 😀

All fields are fertilized. Now we are planting corn. Pretty dry in our area. Good planting conditions and some cold nights yet. Next week it will be warmer. We are hoping to get some rain soon and the fields will turn green soon.

We are injecting our organic fertilizer in our fields again for the 2026 corn crop. The birds are loving it.

Today we had a group from SDSU extension visit our farm.
They had a lot of good questions and it was great to show them how we produce milk and care for our cows.
They were also interested in how the digester works and fits in our daily routine for manure management and bedding production.
