Thank you everyone for all your prayers, and messages. He was only 4 and we had him since we was a baby. He is going to be missed so much.

Farming is hard, and caring for livestock is even harder and no one can prepare you for that. One minute your animals are perfectly fine running, jumping, eating and greeting you at the gate. Then in a short time frame everything can change.

Wednesday night our Buck Pluto didn't greet me at the gate, he didn't come for food a very odd behavior for him. Then our livestock dog Rayah found us barking and running being insistent.

We followed her and she led us right to him. He was down not moving and needed immediate attention.

We quickly got him to our barn and started assessing what happened to him. We thought it was bloat and started treating him for that. He starting holding his head up, and looked better. We got him propped up, comfortable and left him around 1am.

The next morning around 6am I went out to check and he didn't look any better. I called our vet (who is amazing) and they came down immediately.

Our vet suspects it's Listeria, common in goats but really just bad luck. Pluto has a 50/50 chance of making it. He's on high dose antibiotics, b12 shots and we are giving him electrolytes by drench.

Please say a prayer for him that he can pull through this 🙏
