Five days ago, this family lived in a completely different house.

Think about that for a second.

Five days ago, every plate, every toy, every book, every piece of clothing, every memory, and every piece of furniture was somewhere else.

Today?

The beds are made.

The pantry is stocked.

The books are on the shelves.

The playroom is ready for little feet.

The closets are put away.

And life can move forward.

Because moving isn't just about getting belongings from one address to another.

It's about helping a family feel at home again.

This project started months ago with planning, sorting, and preparation.

Last week, it all came together.

Not last week.
Not after a month of living out of boxes.
Not after spending every evening searching for pajamas, favorite toys, and phone chargers.

Yesterday.

Today their daughter has a nursery that feels familiar.
A playroom ready for imagination.
Closets put away.
Books on the shelves.
Toys where they belong.

I’m gaining a lot of Realtor friends lately and I love it.

But some of y’all are still handing your clients over to a moving company.

Friend…

Your client is stressed.
They’re overwhelmed.
They’ve lived in that house for 20 years.
They’re crying over a box of Christmas ornaments.
They’re trying to figure out what to keep, what to donate, how to pack, where it goes, and how to set up the new house.

And your solution is…

🚚 “Here’s a guy with a truck.”

That’s like referring someone having a heart attack to a treadmill.

We don’t just move boxes.

We help people decide what stays, what goes, pack it, move it, unpack it, organize it, set it up, and help them feel human again on the other side.

Some of my Realtor friends are out here referring clients to companies that will happily drop 147 boxes in a garage and disappear into the sunset. ☠️

Confession.

Yesterday, my bedroom looked like this.

Not a client's.

Mine.

Between traveling, moving clients, running a business, managing a team, and trying to keep up with life, my room became the place where everything landed.

Laundry.Suitcases.Clothes.Random piles.

And honestly?

There were days I'd walk in, look around, and immediately feel that little wave of overwhelm. You know the feeling—when every pile quietly reminds you of one more thing you haven't gotten to yet, and closing the door feels easier than dealing with it.

I wasn't embarrassed.

Because this is what real life looks like sometimes.

Even for a professional organizer.

The difference isn't that I never get behind.

The difference is that I know how to reset.

A focused hour later and my room feels like mine again. The visual noise is gone, I can breathe a little easier, and walking into the space feels calming instead of draining.

That's something I wish more people understood.

Organization isn't about perfection.

It's about having a system to come back to when life gets messy.

Because life will get messy.

After living in the same home for 40 years, where do you even begin?

Not with the boxes.

Not with the furniture.

You begin with the decisions.

This sweet client spent the last 10 years living alone in the home she loved.

Now she's moving closer to family in Columbus.

And with that came hundreds of decisions.

What stays.What goes.What moves into the next chapter.

The beautiful thing about this project was that she didn't want her home stripped of its personality.

She didn't want it to feel like a model home.

She wanted it to still feel like hers.

And I think that's something a lot of people can relate to.

Because moving on doesn't mean forgetting.

It doesn't mean the memories disappear.

It simply means making room for what's next.

Over the last few days, we helped sort, purge, pack, and prepare this home for the market while preserving the things that mattered most to her.

And now this home is ready for its next family.

Dear Sunday,

I think one of the biggest lies we tell ourselves is:

"I don't know what to do."

Yes you do.

You know.

You've known for a while.

You know what conversation needs to happen.

You know what habit is hurting you.

You know what relationship you're outgrowing.

You know what room in your house you've been avoiding.

You know what dream you've been talking yourself out of.

You know what excuse you've been hiding behind.

You know.

The truth is, most people don't have an information problem.

They have a courage problem.

Because if you truly didn't know what to do, you'd feel confused.

But that's not what most people feel.

Most people feel stuck.

And stuck is different.

Stuck is when you already know the answer...

but you don't want to face what the answer requires.

Because the answer requires change.

The answer requires accountability.

The answer requires discomfort.

The answer requires giving up the story you've been telling yourself.

So instead, we wait.

We wait for Monday.

We wait for January.

We wait for more money.

We wait for motivation.

We wait for confidence.

We wait for life to slow down.

We wait for a sign.

But what if the sign has been there the entire time?

What if that knot in your stomach is the sign?

What if the thing you keep thinking about before you fall asleep is the sign?

What if the conversation you keep rehearsing in your head is the sign?

What if the room you keep shutting the door to is the sign?

What if the thing you're trying hardest not to think about...

is the very thing you need to face?

Because here's what I've learned.

Life changes very slowly when we avoid the truth.

And very quickly when we finally stop running from it.

Maybe today isn't about finding answers.

Maybe today is about admitting you already know one.

For 40 years, this house was home.

It witnessed holidays, celebrations, ordinary Tuesdays, difficult days, and countless memories that can never be packed into a box.

As our client prepared to move closer to family, she faced something many people eventually face:

How do you honor the memories while still moving forward?

The answer isn't getting rid of everything.

The answer isn't erasing the past.

The answer is preserving what matters most while allowing the next chapter to begin.

With thoughtful editing, packing, and staging, this home was able to shine again.

Not because we changed its story.

Nobody told me when I started OCD Home Solutions that one day I'd be standing next to a giant squid on a U-Haul in downtown San Francisco.

Yet here we are. 😂

A few years ago I was just trying to build a business.

Now I'm helping clients start new chapters, driving moving trucks across the country, and somehow finding myself in situations I never could have imagined.

This trip has been exhausting, stressful, exciting, and honestly pretty incredible.

Life has a funny way of taking you places you never planned to go.

Sometimes those places include a giant squid parked outside a luxury hotel in San Francisco. 🦑🚚

And honestly... I wouldn't have it any other way.
