Sooooo... I did a thing! 🥹❤️
This one is definitely bittersweet, but I've learned there truly is a season for everything.
Leaving Brookshire Brothers wasn't an easy decision. The bakery gave me so much. I had incredible coworkers, an amazing boss, and I genuinely enjoyed what I did. I'll always be thankful for the time I spent there and everything I learned along the way.
But... God's timing is always perfect.
If you know me, then you know when I dream... I DREAM BIG. I'm talking Noah-building-the-ark-when-no-one-believed-him kind of big. The kind of dreams that only make sense if God is the One writing the story. And the kind that can only happen if God's hand is in it.
My bakery has always been, and still is, the dream. ❤️ That vision hasn't changed one bit. I still fully plan on opening my own storefront one day. But dreams like that take time. They take growth, patience, wisdom, and a whole lot of trusting God through every season.
So instead of rushing the process, I asked myself... why not spend this season preparing? Yes I'll still be baking on the side, it’s just not going to be my full focus. I'm not forcing anything. What God provides won't need to be forced.
I'm so excited to share that I've accepted a CASL 3 Paraprofessional position at Spring Creek Elementary! 🍎✏️📚 I have been there a week now!
This is such an incredible opportunity to get my foot in the door before I eventually go back to school. I've been incredibly blessed to always have a strong support system in my life—people who believed in me, encouraged me, and reminded me that I was capable even when I doubted myself. I know not every child has that.
If I can be a safe place, a source of encouragement, or simply someone who believes in a child when they need it most, then I want to be that person. And if I can help bring out their creativity along the way, even better. I will be going back to school soon to become an art teacher, and I truly believe this is another step God is using to prepare me for what's ahead.
And honestly... what better way to spend this season of waiting than helping inspire creativity in little minds while I'm continuing to build my own business behind the scenes?
This new chapter also gives me so many things I've been praying for—more balance, weekends with my church family, holidays with my family, summers to pour into my bakery and myseld, and the opportunity to keep building the future God has placed on my heart.
One thing I've learned over the last few years is this: when God says move, I move. When He says go, I go. I don't have to understand every detail anymore. I don't have to know how it's all going to work out. I just have to be obedient.
If He tells me to build the ark... I'll build the ark.
But I think in this season, He's asking me to build something different.
He's asking me to build me.
To grow. To learn. To become the woman He needs me to be before He entrusts me with everything I've been praying for.
Because sometimes God doesn't change the destination... He simply changes the route.
Turns out God wasn't telling me "no"... He was simply saying, "Not yet. Let Me prepare you first."
The dream hasn't changed... God is just growing the dreamer first.
So here's to bittersweet goodbyes, exciting new beginnings, and trusting God with every season. I don't know exactly what the future holds, but I know Who holds it.
And if I've learned anything, it's this: God's plans have always been better than mine.
The storefront is still coming. The dream is still alive. God's just writing the story one chapter at a time... and I have a feeling the best chapters are still ahead. 🤍
