We met the most amazing artist at the 2026 USPC Championships, Darlene Ivey. She did this lovely, stylized watercolor of Phancy based on Addison’s description. She has her princess tiara on with her skull cap and her cross country watch. She’s ready to toss the bucket at you, demanding more feed. She even captured her famous side eye.

Her fine art watercolors were some of the best I’ve seen. She has a very fun collection of items with her images, as well. Give her a look!

What a fantastic start to the 2026 USPC Championships at the Kentucky Summer Horse Trials!

Addison had a perfect turnout inspection, earning five “Exceeds Standards”—an accomplishment she worked incredibly hard for. Yesterday was dressage, and she and Phancy put in a lovely test that reflected all of the time, patience, and dedication they’ve invested this season.

Each competition this year has shown steady growth and improvement, and watching their partnership continue to develop has been amazing. I am so proud of them both. Here’s to enjoying the rest of an unforgettable week at Championships!

Addison and Phancy are all moved into the barn and the 2026 US Pony Club Championship Rally has begun!

We are on a big adventure this week and arrived last night in Kentucky for the Pony Club Championships with Phancy, Addison, Karsyn. It’s the farthest I’ve ever hauled a horse! Addison will compete in the Kentucky Summer Horse Trials and part of her Championships. Do I have any Facebook friends attending the horse trials this weekend? Let’s connect!

Today we celebrate freedom, gratitude, and the beautiful country we’re blessed to call home. Here at the farm, we’re spending the day with our horses and the quiet joy of farm life. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Independence Day!

Welcome to the world!

Admittedly, I’m a bit of a procrastinator. So what could possibly go wrong while preparing for an extended trip away from the farm?

I spent a lot of time organizing everything that needed to be covered while I’m away…

Horses — check
Dogs — check
Cats and chickens — check
Addison to horse show — check
Remaining mare to foal — check

I finished most of my packing late last night (or maybe early this morning 😅) and set my alarm for 5:00 AM to finish the last few things on my list.

Rafi’s water broke at 5:05.

She foaled by 5:30… a mere three hours before my airport ride was scheduled to pick me up.

Luckily, everyone was on board with getting things done in quick fashion. Placenta passed quickly without issue, milk bar was found immediately, and plenty of meconium was passed. So before 8:00 AM I got to strip and re-bed the stall, dip the navel, inspect the placenta, and handle all of the usual foaling mare tasks.

Huge thank you to my amazing friend and vet for taking Addison to school so I could shower and get ready for 16 hours of travel. My fellow travelers probably appreciate that too!
