Turn bison stew meat into tender, saucy bison burnt ends with this great recipe!
Smoky Maple Bison Burnt Ends
Ingredients
2 pounds bison stew meat
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper
¾ cup beef broth
½ cup barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Directions
Heat oven to 300°F.
Toss bison with oil and seasonings. Sear in an oven-safe skillet until browned.
Add beef broth, cover tightly and bake for 1½–2 hours, or until tender.
Carefully drain any remaining broth.
Mix barbecue sauce, maple syrup, Worcestershire and Dijon. Toss with the bison.
Increase oven to 425°F and cook uncovered for 15–20 minutes, stirring once, until the sauce is sticky and the edges are dark and caramelized.
