Blue Moon Acres farm was started by Jim and Kathy Lyons in 1990 as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm, growing a small array of vegetables and greens at the home farm in Buckingham, PA. Blue Moon Acres uses only natural methods in the growing process- no synthetic fertilizers, chemical pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, fertilizers, GMO’s or growth regulators are ever used. At our Pennington, NJ farm, new ideas, technologies, equipment, and techniques are being implemented to grow plants that naturally resist disease and pests, increase soil carbon and build soil structure, increase soil microbial/ fungal populations and diversity, and solubilize nutrients previously locked up in the soil. The premise now is the same as it was at the beginning to grow good-quality food that is in accordance with sustainable agriculture practices. We operate a market on our Buckingham farm every Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM which offers our micro greens and Certified Organic produce as well as our own NJ-grown, Certified Organic, freshly-husked rice. You can also find our Herbarium line of body products made with food-grade ingredients and our own herbs. Visit us Fridays 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturdays 9 AM to 3 PM. Our market is stocked with Certified Organic Produce, Microgreens, and Rice from our farms as well as hand curated goods from local vendors.
