Today was vaccination day for everyone, and with that, I found some beautiful fleeces brewing! Border Leicester, Gotland, Jacob and Mohair!

Before I got gotlands I talked to several breeders. They all said something along the lines of, “gotlands are magical”, “gotland magic…”, etc. and I honestly was like, “yeah right, they are beautiful animals but there is no way they are THAT great” I should have listened. When I was interested in them I was interested more in their wool and dual purpose qualities than their other qualities, but “MAGICAL” doesn’t even begin to describe these animals. They are so beautiful, friendly, calm, curious (I could go on but I’ll stop here)! Their wool oh their WOOL! It is divine! Soft, lustrous, curly and so far, fun to work with. I am so excited to see what the future holds out for these ladies (and gentlemen). Lambs will hopefully be here late spring next year (Ram isn’t with the ewes yet).

PS.. These sheep were not handled much before I got them a few weeks ago. They are just happy to be with you. One of the ewes came over and layed by my side. Gotland Magic right here…🩷

Fair 2024 has officially came to a close! So very happy with how my small flock did this year! Thank you to all that showed one of these guys, I could not have done it without you!

Samson, my Border Leicester Ram took Grand Champion overall Ram and 1st in his class

Mandy, yearling Border Leicester ewe took Grand Champion overall ewe, and first in her class!

Alice, a aged Jacob ewe took Reserve Champion overall ewe, and 1st in her class for the second year in a row!

Valentine, 6 month old Jacob ewe lamb took second in her class!

Holly, 2 year old Jacob ewe took second in her class!

Thank you all who stopped to say hi! congratulations to all of my fellow exhibitors! It was another great year!!! See you next year!

Officially welcoming “Mandy”, a full blood Border Leicester yearling ewe!

This beautiful lady has the most beautiful locks!

6 days early, but Taz gave us the CUTEST F1 nigora babies, naturally, both bucks. Both are sporting the most beautiful blue eyes. A solid black, and a beautiful Badger!

The long wait for lambs is over!

Holly had her single 2h Ram lamb yesterday evening!!!

AND

Miss Psycho had a single ?h ewe lamb this morning. Beyond excited to see these two unfold as they mature!

A mutual understanding between beast and sheep. So very proud of both of these animals. Respect and trust has been earned by both Joker, my ram, and Kash, my herding dog. They sniffed eachother and both walked away peacefully. Neither one overstayed their welcome. Such a beautiful moment to capture! 💖
