Feeding next years crop starts early. I didn’t mention this in the video, but the strips we harvest will get planted into a different blend of cover crops as soon as we are done with harvest. We have about 12 acres of these strips dedicated to garlic production and plant roughly 16 species of plants between harvesting and re-planting as we alternate year to year.

Post harvest sizing operation has come a long ways! From hand sizing with the old nail board, to an angled slotted rail setup (not shown here) to a speed sizer! I’m really excited about this. Hours and hours of sorting has been cut out. Even with the intermediate tool it would take us a couple hours to run a full bin of garlic. Now it’s less than 20 minutes.

Garlic harvest is on! SVEA is looking beautiful coming out of the ground. Great size and quality! Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered! Just a reminder, orders with Culinary garlic will ship starting in August, orders with Seed garlic will ship starting in September. We still have seed available on the website!

Thanks to everyone who has placed pre-orders!!! Seed is going fast, so please don’t wait too long if you are looking for seed. We will be harvesting in 1.5 - 2 weeks! Garlic shown in Video is SVEA. It gets huge and has excellent flavor. If you want to grow garlic bulbs you can brag about, this is it.
