Makarios Acres, LLC We are a first-generation family farm specializing in pork, beef, and chicken. Makarios is Greek for blessed or content with what you have!

We are also a WSDA licensed slaughter and butcher shop, which gives you a true farm to table experience. We specialize in pasture and woodland raised pork and grass-fed beef. We offer USDA retail cuts, as well as subscriptions and delivery.

Did you know pig lungs are very similar to human lungs in size, shape, and function? And actually, in 2024 surgeons at a hospital in China gave a human a pig lung transplant and the lung functioned for 9 days!

We learned about the respiratory system this week for our homeschool co-op, so of course we had to bring in pig lungs for the kids to see how they function!

A few weeks ago I posted in our stories about a new homemade laundry soap recipe I was trying. It’s hard to find laundry soap that can keep up with 5 kids and a farm (and not have a bunch of chemicals)! I ended up trying this one and can say I’m super impressed!

Laundry Soap
1 bar fels naptha soap
1 3/4 cup borax
1 3/4 cup washing soda
1 1/2 cup baking soda
1 1/4 cups oxiclean

Grate the bar of soap in your food processor, then add all additional ingredients and pulse until well blended. Makes about 1/2 gallon of powder detergent. Use 2 Tablespoons per load. That’s it!

We’ve had a lot of requests for ground beef and steak bundles, so we’re excited to finally offer our first one!

All cuts are done right here in our on-farm butcher shop, so you know exactly where your beef is coming from and how it’s handled.

We’re taking pre-orders for early June, and we only have 4 bundles available.

For $340, each bundle includes:
* 10 hand-cut, 1" thick steaks (1 pack sirloin, 2 packs rib steaks, and 2 packs T-bone)
* The rest in ground beef to bring the total to 20 pounds

After taking some time off to welcome our 5th child, we are now opening back up our 2026 butchering schedule for hogs, beef, goat, and lamb! Your product will come back vacuum sealed with custom labeling. We offer customizable dry aging, and our smoked products are all done with no nitrates!
