Long before the Sta. Rita Hills was created as an AVA (2001), the Sanford & Benedict vineyard was planted (1971). The first vineyard in what was to become a world-class region for cool-climate grapes due to the vision of Richard Sanford and Michael Benedict. On this 25th anniversary of the Sta. Rita Hills, we ask you to join us at “More than Just Eggs Benedit” – a brunch to celebrate Michael in a vineyard which he planted.

Michael passed away in 2023, but friends, colleagues and family will raise a glass in toast to this extraordinary pioneer. Bring your favorite story to share as we celebrate the legend.
