Harvest Update!🍇 We’re already a third of the way done—and it’s not even September yet!

Our Pinot Noir is fermenting, Chardonnay was picked this week, and Albariño and Viognier are up next. Working with so many varieties spreads out cellar work and keeps Adrian non-stop busy all harvest long.

Someone buy this man a drink!🥂🍺

Harvest officially kicked off at 2am on Tuesday! Using our Pellenc harvester, our small team picked around 6 tons of Clone 828 Pinot Noir.
 
Vineyard technology has come a long way, and our Pellenc allows us to be incredibly precise about when and how we harvest. When Adrian says the fruit is ready, we can move quickly, picking at the coolest time of night and destemming the grapes within minutes of leaving the vine.
 
The result? Cool, fresh, clean fruit headed to the winery exactly when we want it.

Moment of truth: is it harvest time yet? 🍇 On Monday, Adrian collected Chardonnay samples to check for ripeness. There are a few different ways winemakers test for sugars, but today we’re taking you behind the scenes to show you one of those methods.
