We want to give a huge thank you to American Rent All in Cumberland, MD, Travis Brant of Somerset, PA and Shawnee Structures in Bedford, PA for helping us complete phase one of construction on the ranch railroad as well as providing us with the ability to have a special barn just for our rescue/special needs alpacas/llamas. ❤️🚂🦙

Despite major weather (flooding) related delays over the past year and a half, phase 1-A & 1-B are done with phase two (completion of the railroad’s upper loop) well underway, with completion scheduled for spring 2027.

⚠️We want to remind visitors coming to our upcoming fall 2026 events (Alpaca Yoga September 20th, Soft Opening September 26th-27th, Pumpkin Patch October 3rd & 17th and North Pole Express December 5th & 12th) that areas of the farm will remain an active construction site. 🚧🏗️

Today our Wills Creek Hobbies team took a little field trip over the mountain to Somerset County, Pa and the home of local farmer and former Norfolk Southern Conductor Travis Brant to see his beautiful 6ftx14ft O scale layout.

Travis is a long time supporter of both our Wills Creek Hobbies Shop as well as our Little Wills Creek Ranch where he has helped a great deal volunteering his time to work on our 12 inch gauge live steam railroad, with phase one set to open to the public September 26th.

Travis will be on-site for our September 26th soft opening/National Alpaca Farm Days weekend with some of his beautiful collection on display and will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Nearly all the trains, track building and scenery items you can purchase through our Wills Creek Hobbies by Little Wills Creek Ranch, LLC Shop either online at littlewillscreekranch.com, at our shop in Bedford, Pa located on the lower level of Founders Crossing Artisan & Vintage Market Place (Vendor #127) or at our on-site Ranch Shop here at the farm starting September 26th. If what you want isn’t in-stock, we can certainly order or pre-order it in for you at competitive prices you will find hard to beat!

⚠️Due to unusually prolonged wet weather this summer and certainly this August combined with it being our final season of construction work, we have decided to move our soft opening to coincide with the 20th anniversary of National Alpaca Farm Days taking place the weekend of September 26th & 27th.🚧

By changing our soft opening date and keeping the ranch closed through the month of September, this will allow our contractors and staff to work safely and uninterrupted as the weather permits.👷🏻‍♂️

During our soft opening/National Alpaca Farm Days weekend, admission, alpaca encounters and demonstration steam train rides are FREE to the general public, with alpaca products, feed for the animals, model trains and LWC merch available for purchase during the event. 🚂🦙❤️

All the gravel/ballast for phase 1-B of the ranch railroad and the new “special needs/rescue” alpaca barn has been safely delivered. ❤️🚂🦙

🚧We want to thank everyone for their patience and for exercising caution while crews worked swiftly and safely to unload the materials.👷🏻‍♂️

‼️With a solid week of rain in the upcoming forecast, our soft opening of the first weekend may be postponed to the 2nd and 3rd weekends of December. ‼️

📣For the safety and enjoyment of our upcoming guests, we have opted for the official public debut of our 80 year old Ottaway steam locomotive to take place on National Alpaca Farm Days weekend (September 26th & 27th). This event is FREE entry, alpaca encounters, model train displays and demonstration steam train rides to the general public with alpaca feed, alpaca products and model railroading items from our Wills Creek Hobbies by Little Wills Creek Ranch, LLC available for purchase as well. Stay tuned here to our page for more updates! 🦙👨🏻‍🌾🚂

⚠️Our last loads of gravel/construction material for 2026 are arriving this afternoon!🚧

It only takes a minute or less to get the trucks safely on and off highway 96.

We once again ask that drivers remain vigilant, use caution and watch for workers helping to safely guide traffic.

All too often folks love to fly 15-20+ miles over the speed limit around the blind curve on the hill just before the ranch. It’s bad enough with so many residents right off the road along with two small businesses, but in addition to gravel deliveries, we have contracted mowers working at several locations along this stretch of road and local municipalities cleaning up last night’s storm damage this afternoon.

We ask that drivers please SLOW DOWN and use caution for the sake of everyone working in the general vicinity!

We thank you for your patience and we look forward to opening to the public very soon! ❤️🚂🦙
