August is here, but summer isn’t over yet! Join us on Thirsty Thursday, August 20th, from 5 to 7 pm at our beloved Elmwood wineshop - Funk & Fermentation for a Mediterranean Summer Wines Tasting! We’ll be pouring four wines from France and Italy that capture the sunshine, freshness, and flavors of the Mediterranean.
Domaine le GALANTIN, Bandol Rosé 2025 - Recently ranked #2 on VinePair’s 30 Best Rosés, this organic and biodynamic Bandol Rosé is crafted by Céline Pascale, who continues her family’s legacy on 30 hectares of terraced vineyards in Le Plan du Castellet. Mourvèdre-dominated, this rosé is full of Mediterranean sunshine while remaining elegant and delicate.
Château de ROQUEFORT, Petit Salé 2024 - From the rugged hills of Provence, between the Sainte-Baume massif and the Calanques National Park, Cédric and Violaine cultivate organically and biodynamically in a truly wild landscape. This Clairette-based white blend, known locally as Petit Salé for its distinctive saline character, is fresh, vibrant, and a perfect match for seafood.
SCALA, Cirò Bianco 2025 - The Scala family were the first in Cirò, and likely all of Calabria, to convert their estate first to organic and later to biodynamic farming. This Greco Bianco, distinct from the Greco di Tufo found in Campania, is grown on hillside vineyards. Intensely aromatic, bright, and wonderfully refreshing, it is an excellent companion to summer vegetables and Mediterranean cuisine.
PAOLO PETRILLI, Cacc’e Mmitte di Lucera ‘Motta del Lupo’ 2024 - Cacce’e Mmitte di Lucera DOC is located in the northern Puglia, where the appellation requires a minimum of 60% Nero di T***a. PAOLO PETRILLI is a farmer first and foremost, best known for his tomato sauce (Pomodoro). He brings the same philosophy to his wines: better to limit production and make the best possible product. A crunchy, juicy red packed with Mediterranean herbs. Try it lightly chilled alongside your favorite pizza.
Come by, discover these beautiful Mediterranean wines, and enjoy one last taste of summer with us.
