For the last 22 years, September 11 has been a rough day for me. I often feel completely lost and search for ways to be in community with others. I was 18 in my freshman year of college and it's left a lasting imprint on me.
The image below is an installation at the 9.11 museum in NYC. Each tile is a representation of the color of the sky that morning, as remembered by survivors. Behind that wall are buried the remains that were found of those who perished.
So take some time today to find or build community with others, and remember that when we operate out of fear of those who are different from us, horrible things can happen.
