Hey fellow readers!

We have a MAJOR problem!!!

Someone once again has left a bin of books out by the LFL's.

If the books don't fit in the LFL's, then please find another in the area that has more room.

I am physically unable to pick up this box of books and dispose of it. So it sits. Killing my lawn...and not being used as the 'gifter' intended.

I do not know how many ways I can say this. If the books don't fit, DON'T LEAVE THEM HERE!!!

If this continues, I will be forced to take the LFL'S down permanently. Losing a valid well used asset to the community.

I tried to do a nice thing.

I have to close down my LFP.

Someone in the area said they want to put one up

I offered them my pantry. For FREE... Just asked that they remove the post, and fill the hole with dirt that I provided.

Well, they took the pantry...kinda made a half attempt to dig out the post...they dug down like a foot...then just left with the pantry not saying anything.

When I PMd them...it took them over an hour to get back to me, and he told me that I have a contactor and they should remove it as he can't.

So this person...taking my pantry...which the community paid for in sweat and pop can returns thinks I should pay to have the post removed when he has done nothing.

Things got ugly...

I threatened him with the police...

He returned the pantry...but he damaged it.

He tore out the flooring on the bottom shelf, and tore off the insulation on the bottom sides....

WHY???

If you don't know how to do something...ASK!!! Don't become captain destructo just because you are a man...cause in my book that is no man.

So now the pantry is secure. It is going back to the builder to be repaired...and will then be placed back out in the community.

I am angry beyond words.

He took a community asset and damaged it.

He has no regard for the person who it was built in honor of...yet says he wants to honor his mom with a pantry.

Zero respect!

Dear Friends,

It is with great sadness that we will be closing down our LFP.

We want to thank all those that have helped support us, and support those in need of a bit of assistance. We have enjoyed meeting you, laughing with you, and even crying with you. You have changed our lives for the better in so many ways. We hope we were able to change some of yours also.

We know times are hard, and prices of foods are getting way up there.
We thought long and hard, but sadly, we must shutter the pantry.

Again, thank you for your love, kindness and support over the years.

We couldn't have done it without you.

Two days ago, our Kenton's Little Free Food Pantry was stocked to the max by a loving supporter Bill and his beautiful bride.

This morning...it had maybe four cans of food left in it.

While someone else did an organic feed today, we are pretty empty. I added some Ramen so there is at least a bit more food.

I know for sure I have seen several people come and use the pantry in the past couple days.

Please, if you can spare a few cans...boxes of shelf stable unexpired food...it will be put to good use to help feed a neighbor.

No one should go to bed hungry.

Sadly our pantry is quite empty. Three cans of kidney beans. I added the small bit I had...but it wasn't much.

If you are able, please consider donating a shelf stable unexpired food item to Kenton's Little Free Food Pantry located on Irving Terrace by Crosby.

So many are struggling with feeding their families. And with school being out, kids are no longer getting breakfast and lunch.

Please help if you can.

Or drop off empty pop/beer cans at Xtra Dime Back located on the corner of Englewood and Belmont. Tell them it's for us, and they will help us turn it into food.

Canned veggies
Spaghetti...the fancy shapes tend to sit
