I Want My Mack Toffee

I Want My Mack Toffee Mackintosh Toffee in the traditional bar or slab form is back! This new bar form is as close to the Old School Mack Toffee bar as you can get.

The Nestle Mackintosh Toffee Bar is back. Not just for the Holidays – but back in a 365 and 24/7 kind of way. Nestle Canada’s famous (and very popular…) Mack Toffee Bar disappeared a number of years ago Just unwrap that classic Tartan Plaid wrapper and voila – a DEE-licious brown toffee bar awaits YOU. Life is Good…again!

Whoa! The “Big Brother” of Nestle Mackintosh Toffee pieces has now arrived. Previously, the “first born” was just a 170 gram poly bag with individually wrapped pieces. That seemed like a good deal until Big Brother showed up last month.

We can only guess why the bag size increased by almost 45 percent. But, If you are a fan of the individual pieces of toffee, then it’s a good deal. More toffee pieces is always a good thing. However, Nestle Canada really does not want to give you any choice in the matter.
The Whiz Kids in their Marketing Department also made a few “graphic tweaks” to the outside of the bag so the classic Tartan style will still be popular during the Christmas Holiday season. However, the bigger bag might require YOU to buy a larger Christmas stocking to be hung with care in anticipation of the Fat Guy in the red suit. Good Luck with that...

Well, Nestle Canada has come through with their “new classic” Mack Toffee in a festive Tartan plaid – a box now holds 4 individual bars. So here is the Mack Math lesson for today: their 180 gram box has four toffee bars all of which are nicely tucked into a plastic box liner. Each bar is 45 grams. That won’t make a meal by itself – but it certainly is plenty to follow your Holiday dinner.

Open the box and you might think that each bar is sleeping in their own bed! I wonder what toffee bars dream about…Any interest in finding a box with your name on it under the Christmas tree? Santa would approve!

Yes, Samuel Beckett knows a lot about "waiting" - Just ask Godot. But we certainly don't have to wait much longer for the Mackintosh Toffee Bar. Several emails have arrived from some Happy Campers living in Vancouver, B.C. and a few more emails from toffee fans in Ontario, Canada.

Today [ that would be November 2nd ] a quick stop at an Avondale convenience store turned up nothing in Niagara Falls, ONT. My Plan “B” consisted of a quick stop at a Walmart SuperCenter, but again, Nothing…Nada…Zip… Zilch…

We must be less than a week away from the Real Thing. Reports of Nestle packaging a Mack Toffee 4-Pack of bars - but not a word about the pricing for a single bar. Not that's a little strange. It might just be the cold night air, or possibly the thought of the Buffalo Bills playing K.C. - but my neck hairs are now telling me something B-I-G is about to happen. Or should that be spelled M-A-C-K

Well, it certainly sounds like Nestle Canada is about to “walk-the-talk” – those perky little Sales Reps. continue to stand behind an early October calendar date for their Mack Toffee BAR re-launch.

Good idea since the Holiday Season is quickly creeping up on those Mack Slappers that spend too much time in the kitchen making those tasty Christmas cookies….or is it those tasty Thanksgiving cookies…or is it those tasty Columbus Day cookies. Get ready – Get set – Go (buy some). Life is Good but Nestle Mackintosh Toffee bars make it just a little better!

Visited Ontario last week and accidentally ran into the Niagara region Sales Rep for Nestle. She was jumping for joy and when I asked what was going on she just replied "Whoa...just back from a monthly sales meeting where Nestle announced that the Slab Is Back"...Your favorite tartan wrapped toffee in a rectangular shape will be produced (again) in North York, Ontario. Could be just another rumour - possibly another Urban Legend to add to your list - but I'm going to dig a little deeper. Can you imagine the potential toffee riots in Toronto? Possibly across North America? So, sit back and relax. Let's see what develops during Summer 2013. It's gotta' be a potential confectionary Gold Mine! Possibly better than winning the Stanley Cup!

Whoa! My Fave Buffalo Bills started the season slow but actually won their first game - which was actually their second game. Very excited that Fall weather is here - but really excited that Mack Toffee weather is also here! Time to get those recipes out and crank UP the cookie machine - that would be the oven...The new Nestle Mack Pieces are more popular than ever this time of year. Sure, there are still a few Nay-Sayers who want to use a Time Machine to go "Back-2-The-Future" for the classic bar and slab version of mack Toffee - but that won't happen anytime soon! On second thought, maybe I should mail a bag (or two...) directly to Barack O. He has the opposite view = Forward! And that's the direction I'm taking for me and my Mack!! Adios baby...

O.K. - Possibly Elvis has left The Building and is now visiting John Mackintosh - but the end game is that both of them are DEAD and long gone, while Nestle Mackintosh Toffee lives on. And speaking of "living" - or even "chewing" - my money is on the one [and only] version of Nestle Mack Toffee. And just like Elvis +/or John Mackintosh, nothing [and nobody] lives forever. As my mother always told me...you can't pick your parents, but you can always pick your favorite toffee! Pardon me while I get my coat & hat and that partially finished bag of mack on the kitchen counter!

O.K. people - perhaps it's time to put down your hammers and pop your Nestle Mackintosh Toffee pieces directly into the microwave...for me, it takes about 20 seconds until that unique toffee flavor escapes from the nuker box...Better yet - toss a few (while warm and soft) directly into a hot cup of coffee...Perhaps as good (or better...) than Bailey's Irish Creme? Thought so...

Looking for a simple (and easy...) Drop Cookie recipe to use up your left over Christmas Mackintosh Toffee? Well, if you have ANY left after the Holiday Weekend(s)...you might want to take a peek at this recipe before Super Bowl Sunday...

Drop cookies are made from a relatively soft dough that is dropped by spoonfuls onto the baking sheet. During baking, the mounds of dough spread and flatten. Chocolate chip cookies (Toll House co...

O.K. - I get it...No more smashing any Macks into kazillions, trillions, billions or millions of pieces - Nestle has packaged their Mackintosh Toffee into smaller and conveniently pre-packaged wrapped pieces. Some folks like...some dis-like. But when you carry your smashed Mack pieces around for a few days in your pants pocket..At least you won't have to pick any pocket fuzz off each piece before you pop them into your mouth. Perhaps we should be grateful to the Marketing Gurus at Nestle...and believe me, even I DON'T want to consume any personal fuzz...from anywhere... Hey - Your shirt almost matches the Mack package!
