Today I decided to grab some wings on lunch at Mammoser's Tavern and Restaurant in Hamburg NY. Mammosers has been in business serving customers since 1947! Nearly 80 years old…Ive eaten here in the past and the heat on the wings limited the number I could eat…extremely hot.

So, with MUCH criticism, I ordered 20 plain wings with hot sauce on the side and they were delicious.

Crispiness -10/10 a pick up order and when i got home they were still very crispy.

Size - 8/10 Good size chicken wing that had alot of meat on it.

Tenderness - 6/10 due to the crispyness and not having any sauce on the actual wings. But great flavor to the wing itself.

Sauce - hard grade to give. Ive ordered the hot in the past and not been able to eat many (along with others as it is toooo hot). So I went plain and got hot sauce on the side. The hot sauce was good not being baked into it and I was able to dip the plain wings. Ill give the sauce on the side an 8/10

Wings are always pricey these days at most places and id give this a rank of $$$.

Overall, I will definitely be going back here and continuing to try to conquer the heat Mammoser's brings to their wings.

Where did the kummelweck roll come from?

Dating back to the late 1800s, this roll is native to nowhere else but Buffalo, New York.

A German immigrant by the name of William Wahr is believed to be the creator of the roll

According to local folklore, a local tavern would use Wahrs salty rolls & make roast beef sandwiches to drive up b**r sales because of its high salt content

The sandwich gained widespread popularity during the 1901 Pan-American Exposition held in Buffalo, which introduced the unique regional pairing to thousands of visitors from across the country. Historic local spots like Schwabl's (which has been around since 1837) quickly helped solidify the roll as an absolute cornerstone of Western New York culinary identity.
