Crazy Woman Horses I always thought it would be amazing to have a little farm. My misfit dogs and cats all from different situations were the start of it.

After moving back to Maine and starting to really enjoy living in a more rural area again I started "collecting" my little fur and feather kids. Then of course I added my chickens. Last year goats almost happened but the timing wasn't quite right. This year a great couple offered me their 2 Nigerians. With all these ideas of a small plot farm in my head the pieces are slowly coming together. I can

't wait to learn all kinds of new things from my goat kids. Then I'll be learning even more when I add the turkeys, ducks and bees! Missfit Farm is just a hobby farm, but stay tuned for things we'll eventually be putting out as I learn to do new things!

It may not look like much… but after the way things went with us last spring… easy peasy is nothing you’ll hear me complain about! Maybe I’m just too stubborn to give up on him… but this huge yellow boy holds an equally huge piece of my heart.

Sweet Lainey.. she had a few days of thinking she’s a wild brumbie, running from me, etc. Now she remembers who I am. A little love and grooming today. I’m trying to put a little more weight on her, then I’ll be giving her her 30 days. I can’t wait to get this girl really going.

Lightning, the old soul, she is always standing in her feed bucket… 269 days pregnant. I can feel her baby kick and move around now.. so Lightning gets belly rubs and has to tolerate me rubbing her ‘baby’ and talking to it every morning. Honestly I don’t think she minds at all. I can’t wait to meet this baby, though from what I’ve heard about the stud, it may come out a Golden Retriever 😂
I had originally chosen him for Beth, hoping his kind and even tempered temperament would balance her out. Lightning has the gentlest temperament too.

My sweet Lainey… she is my prodigy girl. Her mom was so incredibly special to me and I am so blessed to be given the chance to raise her last filly up to fill the shoes she left behind.

Her mom was bred to run, but when she started chasing cows in the mountain, she grew into it and loved nothing more than to run down a runaway.

Lainey is a lot like her mom… and after watching her run around with my dog, I think she’s going to love chasing a cow as much as Beth.

I can’t wait to really get this one going.

After last year, I’ve learned how important it is to surround yourself with positivity. I got brought down, a lot. I doubted myself a lot. But when I look back on the year, I know how much I have grown and how happy I am to be where I am.
There is a lot of potential sitting in our corral and I am so beyond excited to keep learning and growing with my fillies…
And to get this painted old man primed up for my girls to have as a step up horse.
